According to a recent mail by Kikkawa Yuu she has just performed a new song titled Hapirapi~Sunrise~ on Thrusday’s Sataten recording.

It has been quite a while since the release of her debut single so a mention of a new song is a great thing for Kikka fans since that means that her next release is already being planned, and while it might be a bit too early to say for sure whether or not this is her second single, a new song mention in a mail is a sure sign that Kikka will once again release new material.
The mail she sent doesn’t say much about the new song apart from: The song is refreshing and very morning-idol-like! (translation by Sohee @JPLOP), which could refer to anything. She also mentions that she will inform us about the release date and other stuff later so it’s great to see that there are at least plans to release this new song for sure.
Hopefully in the next few weeks she releases new info about this new song since the title is pretty cute, and while her previous single leaned towards a more traditional idol sound it will be fun to see if she goes for a more brighter and upbeat sound with this release.
The release date hasn’t been announced.

HQ covers for S/mileage’s 6th single titled Uchoten LOVE have been released.
We saw some previews of the covers a few days ago and it’s great to see that HQ covers have already been released since it gives us a chance to see what each one looks like in detail, and for the most part I love how each cover looks since they each have a different theme and look that many fans will love.
Regular
The regular cover is simply S/mileage sitting on a bench with their arms toward the camera, and while it might be somewhat simpler than the rest of the covers it looks amazing since it shows of each member in a simple but cute theme with the title of the single clearly in view.
Limited A
The Limited A cover features the members in front of a chalkboard full of drawings with the title in a chalkboard font, and while Kanon’s pose might be a bit dangerous the cover is still pretty amazing since it has a unique school theme, and although the chair on the floor distracts a bit it is a perfect cover since the drawings on the board and the few drawings drawn around the cover look amazing.
Limited B
The Limited B has a purikara theme that many fans are used to seeing in blogs, and while not as flashy as normal purikara pictures it does have a cute and bright theme with many hearts drawn on the sides along with the title of the single also in a similar bright neon look which makes the cover look amazing as well.
Limited C
The Limited C cover features a similar font for the title as the Limited B but in different colors, although the layout of the cover is unique since it features all of the members in a clockwise pattern around the title with a background full of makeup and accessories, and like the other covers it sets itself apart with a unique theme as that looks impressive.
Limited D
The Limited D cover is a bit simpler than the regular since it shows off the same chalkboard as the Limited A cover but with a school picture look to it where the members are posing in orderly poses in seifukus, and while not as impressive as the others it does look pretty good since it conserves the school theme with a cute look.
Apart from the single covers the Single V cover was also released:
Like the purikara theme it has a flashy look to it full of a bright light along with thousands of shiny hearts and gems in the background, similar to some iPhone covers, and while it did a perfect job of matching the look of the gem covered cases it looks a bit too bright for my taste, although apart from that small detail it is still a perfect cover for the Single V.
I don’t usually like all of the covers equally since there might be a cover that stands out a bit more than the others, but for this single I loved every cover since they each have a unique and incredible look: from the casual bench theme on the regular edition to the school theme on the Limited A and D covers as well as the bright and shiny Limited B, C and Single V covers, every single one of them are perfect for this single.
Hopefully fans have already reserved their copy of the single and if not I strongly suggest that you do since the single covers and the song preview so far look amazing.
All that is left to see is the PV and a preview for the b-side, and for now we at least have a confirmed date for a clip of the PV that will be available on Recochoku (that being 7/14) so I hope everyone can check it out then.
The release date is set for 8/6.
More footage from the 1st screening of S/mileage’s new member audition has been released on the official S/mileage Youtube channel.
As most fans might remember we got to see footage from the 1st screening a few weeks ago so it’s great to see that they posted another video since we can find out how a few more auditioners look, and while the footage is relatively short it still gives us a good look at the process.
From the almost 2 minutes of auditioner footage on the video I couldn’t really see any that stood out but there were a few that did show off quite a lot of energy, like 1050 who we saw get a forehead check (most likely to see how they look without bangs) as well as 1430 who talked naturally to the camera or the girl with a dark blue sweater and long hair who said she loved S/mileage.
Apart from that we also get to see Tsunku’s new hair and how he judges the auditioners (with footage from a DVD player held up by a gnome on a widescreen TV), and it’s fairly interesting to say the least since he watches footage from them and he writes comments on the papers he has which feature their pictures, and while it might have been relatively short it was fun to see how he judges since he does a good job of checking each girl thoroughly to make sure they are good S/mileage members, so I’m confident that he will pick a perfect member.
Apart from the first two minutes the rest is just another Q&A with Tsunku so it’s safe to skip that part if you don’t understand it, but this video should show off how the 1st screening went, and while it’s a long shot it will be fun to see if any of the girls that appeared on this or the first video make it to the second round since only 50 girls were supposedly picked for the second round.
The second round will air in about 9 hours so hopefully everyone checks it out on Nico Nico Douga.
