Kikkawa Yuu – “Hapirapi ~Sunrise~” Release Date Pushed Back

9 09 2011

Kikkawa Yuu’s 2nd single titled Hapirapi ~Sunrise~ had it’s release date pushed back to 10/5 instead of the original release date of 9/21.

The news was announced via mails sent to Kikka’s FC members.

When I first saw the announcement, I was a little surprised since there seem to be no clear reason as to why the release date has been pushed back (even though it’s a matter of ~10 days), which got me wondering if it was made to have more time for promotion or just because they needed more time to finish everything concerning the single.

As some might remember, Kikka’s first single also had it’s release date pushed back, but it was mostly because of the tsunami/earthquake that hit Japan by this time, so many fans are stating that the date change for the 2nd single is due to the many artists releasing on 9/21 that would be ahead of Kikka on the charts, so maybe pushing back the release date to 10/5 will help her score a stable position on the charts with less rivalry.

Overall, I’m really surprised by the announcement but hopefully this was done to promote the single even more and to assure Kikka a place on the charts for more people to take notice.

The release date for the single has been pushed back to 10/5.

Kikkawa Yuu, Furukawa Konatsu And Mori Saki To Appear In A Movie Titled “Cheerfu11y”

8 09 2011

Kikkawa Yuu and Up-Up Girl’s members Furukawa Konatsu and Mori Saki will be a part of the movie Cheerfu11y.

Lately, fans reported the absence of Mori Saki and Konatsu from Up-Up Girl’s performances at the MAP Thater, which seems to be explained by this upcoming movie featuring the 2 Up-Up Girls members as well as Kikka, and I have to say that I really like to see those 3 former Eggs in a movie together since it seems like a very interesting film.

From the image preview we get of the movie as the small trailer, it seems that the story of the film turns around 11 schoolgirls who are training to form a cheerleader squad (which explains the cute pun in the title “Cheerfu11y” replacing the Ls with 1s to form 11), and Kikka seems to have the main role of the girl with the mission to create the squad which is a great opportunity for her.

Even though the movie seems a low-budget one like most of the ones H!P girls participate in, it seems for me like a really nice change from the usual horror movies we got used to, and thanks to the many different characters and personalities in the film, it’s set to be a very fun release to enjoy with Kikka, Konatsu and Morisaki on screen, each having a unique character to play.

Hopefully we can get a longer preview once the movie is released since I’m quite interested by the story and concept of this movie, but enjoy the trailer below since the 3 girls get to appear at least once.

The movie will air on 10/22.

Kikkawa Yuu – “Hapirapi ~Sunrise~” Full PV Released

4 09 2011

The full PV for Kikkawa Yuu’s 2nd single titled Hapirapi ~Sunrise~ has been released.

For the most part if you saw the short version of the PV then you have a pretty good idea about how the full PV looks since there isn’t much change from the comfy home and nature scenes, and while the song isn’t that catchy at first I did love how the PV looked since it matches the beat of the song while showing off some pretty impressive and natural scenes.

There doesn’t seem to be any shots from a studio, which is an advantage for this song since the soft beat of the ballad really matches with the many scenes we see, from the shot of Kikka singing in front of a tree to the shot of her dancing in front of a wooden wall they really managed to capture the feeling of the song well, but while I did like the many scenes I wish we could have seen a few more.

Despite the somewhat generic sound of the song I was surprised to see that Kikka really tries her best when it comes to dancing and expressing the lines of the song since there doesn’t seem to be a moment where she’s not moving to the beat or smiling at the camera, which made the PV even more fun for me to watch since you can really tell that Kikka did her best for this PV.

Hopefully we can see Kikka try out a new kind of genre with her next release since the somewhat general idol releases are a bit too overused, but despite that I was impressed with this PV since it really brings the song to life by mixing various shots of Kikka singing in relaxed and comfy home and nature settings, so I strongly recommend everyone check it out.

I’ll update with a Youtube link when it is released.

The release date is set for 9/21.

Kikkawa Yuu – “Hapirapi~Sunrise~” Short Ver. PV Released

31 08 2011

The short version of Kikkawa Yuu’s PV for her 2nd single titled Hapirapi~Sunrise~ has been released.

As the title suggests we only get to see a short version of the PV, in this case about 2 minutes, but it’s still a great chance to check out a few of the shots and find out what the PV will look like. For the most part the PV exceeds my expectations since there are many shots in the PV, many of which don’t look like the average dance or close-up shots but instead feature Kikka in settings which relate to the song more.

From what I can tell there are about 6 different shots in the PV (probably more): the shot of Kikka singing in front of a tree in a colorful flower dress, Kikka in a kitchen looking out the window, Kikka having lunch with a dog, dancing in front of a white wooden wall, singing while sitting in the back of a truck, and the close-up which seems to be part of the dance shot as well, and while most of the shots are just to add variety to the PV I have to admit that I really loved the way they looked since they gave the PV a more casual and cozy feeling, matching the song perfectly.

While this is only the first half of the PV there is already quite a lot of content so fans who prefer PVs that stray away from the usual “dance+close-up” PVs will love this release since every few seconds we get to see a different shot, and while the song isn’t exactly the most impressive release you will hear it is still a pretty good release for Kikka since it has a casual and cute sound to it.

Overall the PV looks amazing so far, and while we haven’t seen the other half of this release I am already impressed with it since there are many shots for fans to enjoy, and while most of them might be used only to fill up the PV I still enjoyed it quite a bit since it matches the song perfectly.

Hopefully the full PV is only a few days or weeks away from being released since I am really looking forward to seeing the full PV soon.

The release date is set for 9/21.

Kikkawa Yuu – “Hapi Rapi~Sunrise~” Boxsets Announced

31 08 2011

The Universal store will be releasing boxsets for Kikkawa Yuu’s 2nd single titled Hapi Rapi~Sunrise~.

They will contain all four editions of her single plus a ticket to an event in Tokyo or Osaka. There will be twelve boxsets, each with a different event ticket.

I’m very surprised to see that Universal is also going to release a boxed set since it is a great opportunity for fans to get all of the versions of a single in a convenient package along with a great bonus, and while it seems to be limited to Japan I highly encourage anyone in the area to get a boxed set and reserve their seat for these interesting promotional events.

From what I can tell each event will feature a different bonus, whether it be an autograph session or a handshake, so fans will most likely be very happy about this announcement. A similar promotion was done with S/mileage a while ago, but it seems that Kikka is getting a bit more of a push with three days of events, with a total of twelve different events she has to do, so it’s safe to say that so far promotion for this single is going along really well.

The cover for the boxsets are pretty normal, with a smiling Kikka in front of a wall and a plant making a sign with her fingers, but while it might be a bit simple, in comparison to the covers for the single it is a very welcome change since it has her name on the top, the title of the single in a ribbon styled line that runs from the bottom to the side, as well as a red sign that says something along the lines of “premium box”.

Hopefully everyone who is able to attend the events will do so since this seems like a great way for fans to enjoy Kikka’s 2nd single, and while the twelve events might be a bit too much for only three days I hope everyone is looking forward to this pretty nice change in promotion since many fans would love to have a boxset.

The events will take place on 10/9~10 in Tokyo and 10/15 in Osaka.

Kikkawa Yuu – “Happy Wrapping ~Sunrise~” Covers Released

22 08 2011

Regular

The covers for Kikkawa Yuu’s 2nd single titled Happy Wrapping ~Sunrise~ have been released.

For the most part, the covers are all pictures taken of Kikka in the same outfit and in the same setting, which seems to be a garden with many greeneries and with an astonishing daylight, and I have to say that I’m impressed with how original each cover looks since they’re all different while having the same theme.

Regular Edition cover is the one where we get to see Kikka smiling happily while looking at the camera in a very close-up shot, and I’m amazed by how well she looks since her smile is amazing and the light that’s coming towards her seems to add a nice touch to the cover since it’s not appearant in the Limited Edition’s covers.

Limited A

In the Limited A Edition, we see an equally happy and smily Kikka as in the regular cover, but she is pictured holding both her hands up her head where we get to see her colorful bracelets, while having a tree branch between them, and I love how she looks since she seems extremely happy and confident.

Limited B

Limited B features a different setting from the 2 first covers since Kikka is standing next to a colorful surfboard as I see it (or probably a parasol), and the angle isn’t too upclose since it’s slightly rotated and we get to see her striking a beautiful smile while looking calm and peaceful, and I have to say that I really like the addition of the colors from the background and her bracelets since they make this cover more attractive.

Limited C

Limited C isn’t much different since Kikka is also smiling while looking at the camera, but her playful side is shown in this cover since she is holding both her hands up and looking with smiley eyes towards us, and even though this cover has nothing special, I really like her expression on it since she looks cute and beautiful at the same time.

Limited D

Limited D is by far my favorite cover alongside Limited A since we see Kikka holding onto something cut from the image and swaying backwards while smiling beautifully with an open mouth, and I think this cover is the most lively out of them all since she’s doing something instead of just posing.

Overall, I’m really impressed by how such a simple setting and pictures turn out to be great single covers with each one having Kikka pose in a different way and having cute expressions.

Hopefully everyone of her fans can reserve a copy to support her through her career!

The release date is set for 9/21.
