Up-Up Girls To Appear On The 2011 “24H TV Marathon”

20 08 2011

Up-Up Girls are scheduled to make an appearance at this year’s 24H TV Marathon.

On a previous notice, we got the announcement of C-ute and S/mileage who will attend this event as well and hold a special mini-live and auction event, so I was kind of surprised to see that Up-Up Girls got the chance to appear on this event as well since I would have expected another H!P group like Momusu or even Berryz to appear instead of them.

Nonetheless, I’m really happy to see that apart from their weekly performances at the MAP theatre they are getting the chance to appear on more and more shows and events to promote themselves since it seems that they are starting to grow a fanbase that’s getting larger and larger, so hopefully being on an event like this (even though there was no mention of performing for them) will give them enough exposure and they will be able to reveal their personalities for everyone who’s watching.

Overall, I’m really happy for the girls since they really deserve attending an event as big as this one, and hopofully we’ll soon hear more from them.

The event will take place on 8/21.

UFZS To Perform On “Made in BS JAPAN”

3 08 2011

UFZS are set to appear and perform live on the show Made in BS JAPAN.

To clear things up for the fans, UFZS is the unit formed from the graduated H!P Eggs group “Up-Up Girls”, set to participate in the Superstar K3 competition of K-pop dance covers. It has been quite a long time since the last round of the competition was held but the winners haven’t been announced yet unfortunately.

This appearance will be the first for UFZS on a TV show which is really exciting for the girls since they are going to perform as UFZS and not Up-Up Girls, which should give them enough promotion under both names since the members are practically the same, and I’m happy to see that they will also be performing their latest dance cover that they have been working on since this news seems like they are officially preparing for them to debut.

Even though I’m not certain if the show is popular or not, it’s always a great opportunity for them to show off their talent and to see if they can handle the stress of live streaming, and it will be interesting to see how they will interact with the audience and with the hosts, so hopefully this appearance and performance will give them the chance to promote themselves and to proove what they’re capable of.

Hopefully this will be a successful first TV appearance for them since they really deserve the attention.

The show will air live on 8/5 at 18:00 JST.

Up Up Girls To Appear Regularly At MAP Theater

30 06 2011

The electronics store Sofmap will collaborate with the digital TV channel PigooHD to open up an idol theater in Akihabara on mid-July called MAP Theater.

The theater will feature special performances during the weekend with five regular groups performing each weekday:

  • Monday: Tokyo Girls’ Style
  • Tuesday: Nakano Fujo Sisters & Fudanjuku
  • Wednesday: Tokyo Cheer Party
  • Thursday: Up Up Girls
  • Friday: Idol Street

I’m really happy to see that the Up Up Girls have a place where they can regularly perform since it’s a great sign that they are becoming more and more popular, and since the theater is located in Akihabara it should be a really good way of gaining new fans while promoting the group for any future activities.

So far there have been quite a lot of signs that the group is doing a really good job with promotion, most recently their Superstar K auditions and I’m glad for them since they are a group with a lot of talent that seriously needs a debut as a group, and even though there was a mention about their debut a few months ago there is still no mention of any release by them.

Despite that, fans will most likely love attending weekly performances from the group since they can check out their covers of songs and their dances, and while we find out more from their Superstar auditions until next month this should be a good way for fans to show their support.

Hopefully fans who are in the area can check out their performances every Thursday after the theater opens since this is really good news (“weekly performances in Akihabara” are always good news for any group).

The theater will open on 7/16.

“UP-UP GIRLS” – New Name To Up-Front Girls And Details Released

27 06 2011

The new group from the H!P Eggs called “Up-Front Girls” had its name changed to UP-UP GIRLS instead, and many details about the unit from this group UFZS’s performance at the Super Star K 3 auditions have been released.

First of all, since the group was previously announced as unstable and the name Up-Front Girls was temporary, it seems that they changed it to something more catchy and easy-to-remember via their Ustream show which is UP-UP GIRLS, and I have to say that I think it’s more appealing and easier to remember, as well as having a somewhat cute feeling to it which might please many fans, and this way, it’s not too related to UFA with just keeping the “UP” part as a hint that they belong to the agency.

The group’s name and activities are still instable and may vary again, but at least the members seem to be stable for now, and also to note that they changed their twitter tag from #ufgirl to #uugirl to match the current name of the group.

Other informations are in about the Super Star K 3 audition that the unit named UFZS taken from the group which has the exact same members as UP-UP GIRLS participated in (this was their first announced activity when the unit was formed), and it seems that the girls are doing pretty well since they have passed the 2nd round of preliminaries for Japan (the audition is held in Japan, Beijing and New York) which means they made it to the finals for the Japanese section of the auditions, and their manager will be announcing the results of them passing to the final round of the contest in the end of this month.

Apart from that, thanks to the success and popularity that the girls had during their FC events, more have been planned for them on 8/20 at the Tokyo FM Hall for 3 performances that day.

Overall, I have to say that I’m pretty impressed with what the girls have pulled since their debut since they managed to attract people’s attention as well as going far in the competition, and more details about their activities should be released soon once they officially debut.

Hopefully everyone can support them in one way or another and we’ll see them debut soon!

Their events will take place on 8/20 at the Tokyo FM Hall.

Up-Front Girls Official NicoNico Channel Opened

9 06 2011

An official NicoNico channel for Up-Front Girls has been opened.

I don’t know if any other H!P groups or members have a channel on NicoNico since i’m not too familiar with the site, but it seems like another nice way to introduce the girls to the people who usually spend their time on this site and check out the channels in it.

Their channel has a nice banner of their recent pictures with many colors and pancakes and sweets on the background which is a nice touch to the look of the channel overall, and it features so far 3 videos (more should be uploaded): their latest dance cover of Dance de Bakoon!, Romantic Ukare Mode which they performed during their FC event as well as Akari’s announcement about joining the group.

I have to say that I’m happy to see that they aren’t taking the K-pop dance covers too seriously since they seem to start doing H!P dance covers too, and I’m pretty much impressed with Dance de Bakoon! since they seem to be easily dancing around with the music and the outside setting is very promising for future dances.

Hopefully everyone can take a look at the channel!

UFZS Member Colors Revealed

7 06 2011

The member colors for UFZS have been revealed.

  • Sengoku Minami is Red
  • Furukawa Konatsu is Pink
  • Sekine Azusa is Orange
  • Arai Minami is Blue
  • Satou Ayano is Purple
  • Saho Akari is Yellow
  • Mori Saki is Green

A fan tweeted staff about their colors and this was the response.

While colors are usual for all of the H!P groups it’s great to see that we finally get to find out what colors each member of UFZS will have since it has been a while since they were formed, and while they technically don’t mean much (apart from giving fans a way to show their support and a way to identify them easily) it’s a nice addition since fans can use their colors to support them at appearances.

So far the colors are basic and seem to relate to Berryz Koubou, which is not surprising since each group has 7 members, and while they might be the same basic colors I have to admit that I like how each color looks on each member (there are only so many colors).

I look forward to finding out if fans will wear the colors of their favorite members in future appearances since this is a great way for fans to show their support.

Sengoku Minami and Saho Akari Are Officially Part Of UFZS

16 05 2011

Sengoku Minami and Saho Akari are now officially part of UFZS.

I’m not sure if they were formally introduced as members in a recent event or if this post from the Jinsei site confirmed the addition, but I’m glad to see that UFZS has added a few more members to their lineup (technically a second generation) since it gives them more members to perform at events as well as more talent so that they can sing and dance to more songs.

Sengoku was seen around UFZS quite a few times although she wasn’t named as an official member, and when Saho joined she wasn’t immediately announced as a member, but a confirmation gave us a chance to find out for sure that these two members will now be part of the group.

UFZS have been singing and dancing quite a lot in their recent events, and since they seem to be pretty popular I wouldn’t be surprised to see that they become more than a dance cover group, but for now I wish Sengoku and Saho the best and I hope we get to see them perform at events pretty soon.
