Morning Musume To Appear On Music Fighter To Promote “Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai”

31 01 2010

Morning Musume are scheduled to appear on Music Fighter to promote their new single titled Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai.

I’m glad to see that the single is getting more and more promotion especially with the many radio, magazine and TV appearances the girls have done lately (the recent trips to China are also great publicity back in Japan and also in China).

We will probably get a chance to see some pictures from the appearance sometime soon so hopefully the girls get a chance to shine individually on Music Fighter when they are performing Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai (and also in the soon to be aired episode of Utaban).

The show will air on 2/12.

Da Xiao Jie – “Wo Shi Da Xiao Jie Year of the Tiger Edition” Album Announced

31 01 2010

A new album for Da Xiao Jie (otherwise known as Frances and Aiko) titled Wo Shi Da Xiao Jie Year of the Tiger Edition has been announced. The album is basically a re-release of their debut album but with two new songs and MVs, one of which is titled Bling Bling New Year.

One of the two new songs will have an MV, and a preview for it was released recently (after seeing it I’m somewhat glad that Tsunku doesn’t appear in H!P PVs):

The PV has a Chinese New Year theme, and according to jelly man Frances and Aiko had to learn the choreography in one day because they had exams the next day (to be honest I don’t think that affects much at all). The song overall is cute and the MV is … flashy and overall interesting to see.

For the most part I’m not surprised at all that Frances and Aiko would release something related to Chinese New Year since they are becoming more and more popular in China lately, especially with younger fans.

Hopefully we get a chance to hear from other new songs from them and also from Ice Creamusume who haven’t had a chance to release something in a year.

The release date is set for 2/3.

Morning Musume Arrive At Shanghai To Perform On A Chinese TV Show

31 01 2010

Morning Musume has arrived at Shanghai today to record a performance for a Chinese TV show which will air on Chinese New Year.

They have already recorded the performance of two songs: Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai and a Chinese song titled Jasmine Flower (茉莉花):

Pictures from the show

I’m glad to see that they got a chance to appear on a Chinese show since this means that they will get a bit more promotion for their new single in China and Japan (if the newspapers report the performance).

Hopefully the performance came out great since it will be interesting to see them perform their new song and the Chinese song in another country.

The performance will air on 2/14.

EDIT: A video from the rehearsal for the Chinese song has been taken from some fans who went to the taping (you can almost feel the excitement and energy Momusu has while performing the song):

Also a video from the performances has been released, HERE is Morning Musume performing Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai.

Morning Musume – “Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai” PV Released

31 01 2010

The PV for Morning Musume’s 42nd single titled Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai has been released.

The PV was released some 10 days away from its release, which might be a new promotion strategy for Momusu since it gives us enough time to enjoy the PV but not to get tired of it (or someone from Dohhh-UP forgot to put it up some weeks ago).

Despite that the PV is incredible in every way since, from the looks of it, each one of the girls got more equal time on the screen than normal (Jun Jun and Lin Lin got a lot more appearances than Kimagure Princess).

During the start of the PV we get a chance to see them perform the first parts of their choreography after which we see them walking down a hallway where each one of them gets the camera focused on them as they walk.

The rest of the PV features many interesting shots such as: a shot of them walking down a hallway, on a stage dancing, singing while getting make-up, walking down a runway, and close-ups in front of a disco ball.

The most interesting parts of the PV would have to be the runway since we get a chance to see all of the girls walk and pose by themselves (Ai-chan, Lin Lin, Kamei, Tanaka, Mitsui, Sayu, Jun Jun and last Gaki) and then we get a chance to see them walk by in pairs (Ai-chan and Lin Lin, Kamei and Tanaka, Mitsui and Sayu, Jun Jun and Gaki).

The make-up part of the video is also interesting since we get many shots of them performing while they are getting make-up, and while there isn’t much else about the shot since the name of the shot explains it quite well I am still amazed at how gorgeous all of the girls look during this part.

The close-up features all of them singing in front of a disco ball, which is a bit simple but it is still one of the best shots from the PV since all of the girls look incredible because of the brightness and detail of that shot.

Overall I love everything about the is PV: the song, the shots, the dance, etc. and while the 8th generation and Sayu didn’t get any solo lines they did get many chances to appear and shine through the PV during the dance shot, runway, close-up and make up parts of the PV.

8nin Momusu are off to a great start with this great single and “more equal than normal” PV, and I am incredibly impressed with the song and PV, so hopefully the single sells well enough since the single definitely deserves it.

Please buy a copy of the single to support them!

The release date is set for 2/10.

“Shugo Chara! CLIP Daishuugou” DVD Announced

31 01 2010

A PV collection for Guardians 4 and Shugo Chara Egg! titled Shugo Chara! CLIP Daishuugou has been announced.

From the list on the image the tracklist for the DVD seems to include all of the PVs for Guardians 4 (Omakaze Guardian, School Days, Party Time, and Going On!) and Shugo Chara Egg (Minna no Tamago and Shugo Shugo!).

It also seems that there will be a video from the event on 2/14 which included Guardians 4, Shugo Chara Egg and Buono as well as a video for the new version of Arigatou ~Ookiku Kansha!~ (possibly from the event as well).

They probably didn’t want to release different DVDs for the two groups since Shugo Chara Egg has only released 2 PVs, but at least this is a great way for fans of both of the groups to own all of them at the same time.

I’m glad to see that we are getting a PV collection from Guardians 4 and Shugo Chara Egg since this means that fans will have a chance to own all of the PVs plus some extra videos from the Shugo Chara event.

We will have to wait for an official confirmation of the DVD, but so far I am looking forward to it.

The release date is set for 3/17.

Mano Erina – “Haru no Arashi” PV Released

30 01 2010

The PV for Mano Erina’s 6th single titled Haru no Arashi has been released on Dohhh-UP.

For the most part I really like the PV since it has a different tone than her recent singles, which I can only describe to be from a somewhat more matured Mano.

There were many other surprises, such as a brighter PV and also a new group of Egg’s as back dancers, in this case:

  • Takeuchi Akari
  • Sekine Azusa
  • Saho Akari
  • Fukumura Mizuki

S/mileage were probably not in the PV since they are most likely busy preparing for their debut so I’m glad to see that they are promoting other Egg’s in their place to hopefully one day become more popular (I would have like to see Mori Saki among the dancers, but they do a good job).

The PV has a loose storyline which is Mano moving into an empty white room and by the end of the PV she has decorated it with some colorful paintings and pictures, which is somewhat of a short story but at least it’s something.

As I mentioned before the PV has a more mature tone, the choreography for the PV is also more mature since the dance moves are somewhat different than other PVs. For example from 0:22 to 0:31 (and continued on 3:21) the dance moves are very different than what we have seen her do (her “head in a box” move was really cute, especially when it was followed by a small wave).

The PV features a small amount of scenes, much of which are close-ups, dance shot with the Eggs, shots of her in her room, playing her piano, etc., and overall I like  how they look since they match perfectly with the song.

The end of the PV was also great since we get a chance to see Mano casually smiling as the camera fades, which is kind of simple but effective since Mano is really cute.

Overall I really like this PV since the song and the PV are both calmer than what Mano is used to doing and as a result we get a chance to see her in a somewhat more calmed setting which doesn’t involve her dancing in front of a pink screen with Hello Kitty.

The shots are some of the best I have seen from any PV since they are bright, and even though S/mileage doesn’t appear I like how they gave other Eggs the chance to dance alongside Mano.

Hopefully the single sells well since it sounds and looks incredible so far.

The release date is set for 2/24.

Shuukan Yoro! Vol 24

29 01 2010

Site Updates: Last week I mentioned I had started school but I forgot to mention my schedule: I have classes from Monday to Thursday from 7:00 am to 3 PM (PST). Why do I say (type) this? Well, during those times I can’t use a computer, which means that I can’t update the site if some news are released during that time period.

It won’t affect that much since I come directly home from school and update the site as soon as possible, but I wanted to say it so that at least you know why I haven’t updated about something like covers, tracklists, etc (basically the posts will be added a bit later).

PVs are released from Dohhh-UP about one hour before I have class so updates about them won’t be affected at all (until daylight savings time happens). In fact I will probably update about them faster since the school has really fast internet.

The only thing that changes, temporarily, is that the review will be missing since I can’t watch the PV at school, everything else will be the same as a normal post (you will probably see something along the lines of “I will update with a release when I get out of school”).

I just wanted to mention it to explain the gap of updates during the day, so hopefully that explains everything. This is only for the school year so in May everything will be back to normal.

Polls: The winner for this poll was Takahashi Ai with 206 votes (41%) so congratulations Ai-chan! Suzuki Airi came in second place with 202 votes (40%) and Tanaka Reina came in third place with 100 votes (20%). There was a total of 508 votes for this poll.

In light of the high turnout last week I decided to start making the voting procedure more fair for everyone by changing some settings on the polls. Basically you can only vote once, which means that erasing your history on your browser and voting again won’t work. And so far it seems to work since the poll turnout has been somewhat lower than usual, but gladly not by much.

I mainly did this to make it more fair for everyone since the poll is basically who is more popular according to all fans, not only one. The poll is just for fun and it is just used to help me figure out who is the member of the week, so I’m not upset at all, but I do want everyone to get a fair chance since some members have never had a chance to appear as member of the week.

Please vote once and if your favorite member doesn’t win then try again the next time they appear, it’s just a small contest and all contests are more fun when everyone follows the rules, so please do follow them. I vote only once when I add the poll (usually the first vote, so if you are the second to vote then you probably know who I voted for) and I hope that everyone votes only once as well.

The next poll will include Berryz Koubou members Shimizu Saki, Tokunaga Chinami and Kumai Yurina:

Please vote!

Reviews: I finally finished the H!SU review! I had a lot of school work during the week so I couldn’t work that much on the review, but I finally got a day off and I managed to finish it. Overall I like how it came out since all of the pictures are clearer and the text review was detailed and expressed my opinion clearly (when I checked the review had more than 4100 words).

If you can, please read and comment on it since suggestions and comments help me correct information I might have wrong or they could also help me improve my writing style a bit, so if you have time please do.

The next review I’m working on is the Kumai PB review and this time I worked hard to make sure I finished my homework before the weekend so I could finish it as fast as possible. It will be similar in style to the Chinami PB review with the PB pictures and the video of the Making Of.

I will update with more on the Review page.

Shuukan Yoro: It’s the 5th day in Niigaki’s week about “Coming of Age ceremonies”.

We continue with the letters to Momusu’s members in 10 years and this time it is the turn of the last 4 members. In short: the first member reads her letter, the second letter is as cute as the member who wrote it, and the third letter is basically questions and statements to her future self which actually come out more mature than Kamei’s.

The last letter basically summarizes my opinion of Morning Musume since it was written by the teacher, Niigaki Risa, who was, and still is, a big fan of Momusu. She is very optimistic about the group and how much it will last which is one of the best things to hear from a member since it means that she is in the group because she loves being part of such a great group and she wants to see them be succesfull.

I don’t want to ruin the episode for those who haven’t watched it so I won’t reveal the name’s of the members in this episode. If you want to find out whose letters were read please watch the episode to find out!

Hopefully you enjoyed Niigaki’s week since it was a great way to find out about the members personalities. Next week will be Maimi’s turn where we will get a chance to find out about side dishes of the world.
