Alternate Event-Only Covers For S/mileage’s “Uchoten LOVE” Announced

13 07 2011

According to the official site there will be event-only covers available at Hello! Project’s Summer concert for S/mileage’s Uchoten LOVE.

For now there are only Kanon and Wada covers announced but there will also be similar covers for Yuuka and Saki.

It’s rare to see new covers for a single that has already been released, but S/mileage has always been a group that tries out new ways to promote their singles and with this new strategy it seems like everyone will be happy since solo covers for the single are a perfect way to give fans a bonus along with their support.

The tracklist will most likely be the same so I don’t expect to see any additional tracks but the main difference will be a giant solo shot of each member, and while the theme might be simple it is a great release since fans of each member can get this special release only available at concerts.

There isn’t much to say about the covers themselves since giant pictures of Kanon and Wada on the cover are self-explanatory, but it’s nice to see that they moved the title of the single to the bottom to give the picture more room.

Hopefully fans who attend the event can get a copy of their favorite member’s single since it seems like a nice way to encourage fans to get a copy, and while it seems like only S/mileage are using this strategy I hope it spreads to other groups since it would be nice to see solo covers of a single for all members of H!P.

The Fukuda Kanon cover will be available on 7/16 and the Wada Ayaka cover will be available on 7/17.

Lilpri – CM for McDonald’s Japan’s Happy Set

7 01 2011

McDonald’s Japan official site has a CM featuring Lilpri for their new toys that will be included in their Happy Set (Happy Meal).

The news was announced quite a while ago, but I wanted to wait until the CM was released to see the result, and give full details; McDonald’s in Japan is now putting Lilpri cards in their Happy Set that seem to consist of dress-up cards where little girls get to dress up their Lilpri character with paper gowns and accesories.

Lilpri members got to participate in making the CM, and even though they only appear shortly, it should promote well the toys since girls watching the commercial will probably see them and if they are fans of the anime, they will definitly want to see the cards and try them out.

The whole idea is a great promotion for the anime and the group itself, which is always pleasant to see. Along with the CM that is available on the McDonald’s official site, a Making Of was released by S/mileage’s official YouTube channel where we see the girls performing on the green screen and fooling around.

Here is the Making Of, and since the CM wasn’t yet released on YouTube, you can watch it on the official McDonald’s site here.

Lilpri – “Idolulu” PV Released

3 11 2010

The PV for Lilpri’s 2nd single titled Idolulu has been released.

Since the PV is for an anime group I wasn’t expecting much, and for the most part I was correct since most of the PV features only a few shots, most notable the dance shot with some close-up shots and a shot of Lilpri holding up their wands at the end of the PV.

Despite that the PV looks great and it fits the simple beat of the song, and since it is aimed at fans of the anime it was somewhat expected that we would see the dance shot as the main shot since fans would have liked to learn it and dance along.

Overall it is a simple theme that matches the simple beat of the song, although I really liked the way the green screen looked since the floating palace setting seemed very well made, so hopefully fans of the group can watch the PV since it is worth at least one look.

The release date is set for 11/17.

Lilpri – “Idolulu” Single V Announced

24 10 2010

Not the cover for the Single V

A Single V for Lilpri’s 2nd single titled Idolulu has been announced.

I’m a bit surprised to see that they have decided to release a Single V for this single since we haven’t seen the full PV yet, but despite that it is a great chance for fans of the group to own a DVD with a copy of the PV.

Right now we don’t have any idea what to expect apart from the normal version of the PV and the Making Of, but we will most likely get to see a dance shot version since fans of the show will most likely want to dance along, but we will have to wait for the tracklist to find out for sure.

Hopefully all Lilpri fans decide to buy the Single V as well since it seems like a great way to enjoy the PV.

The release date is set for 12/15.

Lilpri – “Vira Vira Viro” Preview Released

22 10 2010

A preview for the c/w of Lilpri’s 2nd single titled Vira Vira Viro has been released.

For the most part the song sounds cute and catchy (normal since it is the c/w for an anime group), and even though it seems a bit simple I have to admit that somewhat like it since the catchy beat along with the great vocals made the song fit perfectly with the rest of the single.

The song seems to have a princess-like feeling to it which complements the a-side well, and even though we haven’t heard a full preview of either song it seems that this single is looking like a great release for fans of the group.

Despite the simplicity of the song I did like it quite a bit, and even though I don’t plan on buying the single I encourage everyone who would like to support Lilpri to do so since they are doing their best to promote it.

The preview is a bit short so we didn’t get to hear the rest of the song, but it seems that the song repeats a little bit too much, which shouldn’t be a problem for the target audience (girls who watch the anime), but hopefully we get to hear a longer preview sometime soon.

The release date is set for 11/17.

Lilpri – “Idolulu” PV Preview Released

22 10 2010

A PV preview for Lilpri’s 2nd single titled Idolulu has been released.

As you might remember the first single didn’t have a PV so I was a bit surprised when I found out that they would have one for this single since I didn’t know what to expect, other than a cute and colorful PV, and it seems that I was right for the most part since the PV is colorful and cute.

All of the PV takes part in front of a green screen, which is normal for anime groups, and even though the PV only consisted of two shots (dance and close-up) I have to admit that I was impressed by the effects they used since they matched the song well.

This PV will be included in the Pucchi Best 11 so those who are curious to see the entire PV will have to wait a bit until it is released, but overall I am impressed with how well it looks so far since the simple green screen they used really matched the song well.

The release date is set for 11/17.

Lilpri’s 2nd Single “Idolulu” Announced

24 08 2010

Lilpuri’s 2nd single titled Idolulu has been announced.

After the release of their first single as Lilpri plus the many months promoting both the anime and the Nintendo DS game for the anime, it was somewhat obvious that we would see Lilpri release more singles and I’m glad to see that we get a confirmation that they will.

I was very impressed with the their first single since it had a very catchy sound, but since we don’t have that much information right now we don’t really know what to expect apart from a cutely titled song (I can’t imagine a ballad with the title Idolulu).

We will most likely hear a preview when the new season of Lilpri starts so hopefully that is the case, and after that we will probably get a chance to see the cover.

The release date is set for 11/17.

Lilpri To Be The Opening Act For A Hello! Project ~Fankora!~ Concert

9 07 2010

Lilpri will be the opening act for the first concert of Hello! Project’s Concert Tour 2010 Summer ~Fankora!~.

I have to admit that I was a bit surprised about the announcement since Lilpri is just an anime unit, but it is a great chance to promote their single in front of H!P fans so that everyone gets a chance to hear it.

Hopefully Lilpri get a great reaction from fans, and while it seems that the setlist for each one of the concerts will be somewhat unique it will without a doubt be one of the most memorable concert tours for fans (and for me as well since I have to update 8 times instead of one).

So hopefully all of the H!P members are ready for this great tour and while we have no idea what the setlists will be we do have many hints, such as Lilpri’s song as well as their recent singles.

Good luck to Lilpri!

Lilpri will appear on the following date:

> Hello!Project 2010 SUMMER ~Fankora! Nagoya Basho Yoru~

  • 7/18 Aichiken Geijitsu Gekijou Dai Hall (Aichi) – 18:30

Lilpri – “Little Princess” Cover Released

27 05 2010

The cover for Lilpri’s 1st single titled Little Princess has been released.

Like expected we get a combination of the anime characters and S/mileage cosplaying as the characters they are voicing in the anime, but apart from that I like how the cover looks since it fits well with the upbeat sound of both of the songs as well as the theme of the anime.

The background is a bright pink that is decorated with sparkles/stars  and the title is decorated with cute and bright colors, and since the anime is made for girls it was almost guaranteed that we would get a cover with pink, neon, or rainbow colors and not surprisingly the cover has all three.

Overall the cover looks great since it matches the song and the anime perfectly, and even though the cover almost glows from the amount of pink, rainbow, neon, and sparkles it is sure to catch the attention of the fans who watch the anime (and anyone else who passes).

The release date is set for 6/16.

Lilpri 1st Single “Little Princess” Tracklist Released

19 05 2010

1 Little ♥ Princess
2 Otona ni Narutte Muzukashii!!!
3 HAPPY GO LUCKY
4 Little ♥ Princess

The tracklist for Lilpri’s 1st single titled Little Princess has been released on HMV.

I have to admit that I was a bit surprised to see 4 tracks for the single, since regularly we only get 3, but I am glad to see that they included Otona ni Narutte Muzukashii!!! since it is also part of the anime (the ED theme I believe).  I have no idea if it will be the 4-nin S/mileage version (most likely) or another recorded version without Ogawa (not likely) but we will soon find out when it is released.

Two tracks are expected since Little Princess was the confirmed a-side (not to mention the main song of the single) and since a-sides regularly get instrumental versions it was almost guaranteed that we would see it among the main tracklist.

The other track HAPPY GO LUCKY is a new song (from what I can remember) and it will be interesting to see how it sounds, although the title suggests it will most likely be a happy upbeat song.

Overall the tracklist was somewhat surprising and with the release of 4 songs in a single (according to HMV) it will be a great way to convince many S/mileage fans to buy a copy, so hopefully S/mileage fans do so to support this unit.

The release date is set for 6/16.
