Berryz Koubou To Perform on Music Fighter

28 02 2010

Berryz Koubou will perform one of the two a-sides from their 22nd single titled Otakebi Boy WAO! on Music Fighter. The talk guest is SID so most likely the girls will only perform.

Music Fighter Announcement

I’m glad that we already are getting more TV performances than their previous single since they will also perform on MelodiX on 3/27 apart from performing on Music Fighter.

Most likely both of the performances will be Otakebi Boy WAO! which is a great decision since it is a powerful song that is filled with an interesting instrumental with incredible vocals.

Berryz Koubou will be extremely busy during March promoting their single and album while performing for the first time in Bangkok so hopefully everything goes well.

The episode of Music Fighter will air on 3/12.

S/mileage – “Otona ni Narutte Muzukashii!!!” Will Be The ED Theme For An Anime

28 02 2010

S/mileage’s 4th indie single titled Otona ni Narutte Muzukashii!!! will be the new ED theme for the new TV Tokyo anime Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri.

I’m glad to see that their single is already being used as a theme for an anime even before they debut since it probably means that they will have great promotion if the anime is succesful.

So much color

From what I can see the anime is a basic girl oriented anime with cute characters and animals so it fits in perfectly with S/mileage’s image.

I am not sure what it is about but from what I could find it was first an arcade game directed at girls which involved cards, when someone used a card the character on screen got an outfit, accessory, etc (I remember seeing something similar in an episode of Hello! Morning but I’m not sure).

Hopefully the anime is successful and gives them a lot of promotion for their debut.

The anime starts on 4/4.

S/mileage’s Major Debut 10,000 Smiling Faces Challenge Announced

28 02 2010

It has just been recently announced that S/mileage will debut in May … but there is a catch: It will only happen if 10,000 fans send in a picture of their smiling face, otherwise their debut will be postponed or even cancelled.

There is a video of Tsunku announcing the challenge to S/mileage and it’s safe to say that they were surprised and eager to start the challenge, especially Kanon:

Video uploaded by: upfrontchannel

Here is a more detailed instructional of how to participate thanks to turbos86:

Tsunku is asking for every fan in the world (Yes, he said world, not just Japan) for our smile pictures. All the pictures collected in this campaign will be made into a mosaic board of size 2 meter by 4 meter big. The campaign will run from now until March 25th midnight, Japan time.

Since most of us are outside of Japan, the submit via computer method will apply to most of us.
Use this form: http://form.s-mileage.jp/form

Then follow these steps:

1) Enter your information

2) Confirm what you have entered

3) Upload your photo

Click the Browse button and find your photo on your computer, then click the Upload photo button to submit.

If you have done everything correctly, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please redo the entire process.

*1 picture per person only*

This is an incredible way for fans to show their support and include them in some way, similar to the Momusu OPV contest last summer. I’m glad to see that Tsunku did mention all of the fans in the world since he obviously knows that overseas fans would participate in some way.

Please participate in the challenge, it’s not that difficult since you only have to take a picture of your face while smiling and send it in. It doesn’t take more than 10 min to do it and you would be helping S/mileage in their challenge (which slightly reminds me of Momusu’s “sell 50,000 copies of your single to debut” challenge).

Let’s show Tsunku and UFA how many S/mileage supporters there are in the world!

The challenge will end on March 25 at midnight (JST). The results of the challenge will be revealed at the 4/3 Mano Erina and S/mileage concert at C.C. Lemon Hall in Shibuya.

Form To Participate In S/mileage’s 10,000 Smiling Faces Challenge

EDIT: According to this video they want S/mileage to glue all the pictures onto the board themselves, so at least you’re picture will be among the 10,000 and you will get a chance to have you’re picture seen by the members personally.

Also I just sent in my picture and here is how the confirmation should look after you submit your photo (this is how it looked for me at least):

After that you will receive an email from the site:

I took some information out but it’s mostly just my email address and my age. If you receive an email from them then most likely your photo was processed.

Remember to send in pictures of yourself smiling!

Kamei Eri – “too sweet Eri” DVD Preview Released

28 02 2010

A preview for Kamei Eri’s 3rd solo DVD titled too sweet Eri has been released on Dohhh-UP.

The preview starts of with an introduction by Eri in English and after that she continues to present her DVD in Japanese, and for the most part that was the highlight of the DVD for me since she tried her best to say a cute English introduction, most likely because she is in Hawaii.

The rest of the preview is made up of shots of Kamei during the photo shoot for her PB, with scenes ranging from the beach in a bikini to other areas in casual outfits. Kamei shines in each scene and while most of the preview is made up bikini shots it does a good job of showing of Kamei’s beauty.

Overall the preview gives us a great idea of what to expect in the DVD and for the most part I am impressed since there are many incredible shots of Kamei included.

The release date is set for 3/3.

Mano Erina’s 7th Single Announced

27 02 2010

Mano Erina’s 7th single, currently untitled, has been announced. According to the announcement Mano will also star in a movie, and the single may have a tie-in (not confirmed but there is always a possibility).

7th Single Announcement

I’m somewhat surprised that her 6th single Haru no Arashi hasn’t even been out a week yet and we are already getting news for a 7th single, although when I thought about her releases every 2 months last year it was kind of expected that she would be getting another single soon.

It looks like there will be three versions like last time from what I can tell: regular, limited A, limited B, which is a good idea since it gives the fans a variety from which to choose from without overloading the releases.

Hopefully we get an official confirmation and a title soon since it will be interesting to see what kind of theme it will have.

The release date is set for 5/12.

Shuukan Yoro! Vol 28

26 02 2010

Site Updates: I didn’t have much of a chance to update the profile page due to an extremely busy week at school so I apologize for not having the time to update that section.

This week will be relatively more calm since I have already had tests for 5 out of my 6 classes and the next one isn’t for another week so I will have enough time this weekend and the next week to try and update the site.

I also plan to finally start one of the new sections I was talking about and I do have a very basic layout in mind but I will spend more time perfecting it before I can provide any details.

Polls: The winner for this poll was Nakajima Saki and Okai Chisato with 176 votes each (40% each) so congratulations Nacky and Chisa! Wada Ayaka came in second place with 90 votes (20%). There was a total of 442 votes for this poll.

Congratulations Nacky and Chisa!

There is always a first time for everything and for the first time on the H!P Poll of the week we have a tie for first place! Nacky and Chisato had the same number of votes one hour prior to the closing of the polls and after two votes for Ayaka during that hour the results were the same. I even waited an extra 15 min to see if someone would break the tie but they both remained in the same place.

Since this hasn’t happened before I will add both of their images on the sidebar. I wanted to add a picture of both of them but I decided against  the idea since the only picture I had of them alone and together was from the Alo-Hello! PB so I just added a Chisato picture under Nacky to follow order of seniority in the group.

Ogawa Saki will appear on the poll this time so I only had to choose the two other members that would appear and for this I wrote the names of the 25 members in H!P on some pieces of paper and randomly picked the other two members and as a result Mitsui and Sayu were chosen (I also choose the other 8 polls already but I won’t reveal them until it’s their turn to appear).

Just a reminder for those who don’t vote: If you do have a chance please do vote, it only takes two clicks and you help your favorite member appear as member of the week!

The next poll will include Morning Musume member Michishige Sayumi and Mitsui Aika and S/mileage member Ogawa Saki:

Please vote!

Reviews: Like stated above I didn’t get much of a chance to work on any sections so the review progress was on a standstill for most of the week. But one thing I did do was decide on which review to work on next and I decided to do C-ute’s Best Of album.

I decided to do that one mostly because it is the easiest to do since I only have to review about 15 images and the songs in the album. The Mano album I will do next in the hopes that someone can sub the DVD that came with the limited version, if it isn’t subbed then I will go ahead and review it anyways but I won’t be able to understand that much.

Also an update on my recent H!P shopping spree, I managed to order quite a lot and it’s safe to say that I will have a lot to review when March comes by. To give you an idea of what I got here is a small list with some of the items I can remember of the top of my head:

  • Tsugunaga Momoko – momochiiii (PB)
  • Morning Musume – Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai (Regular and Limited C)
  • Morning Musume – 10 MY ME (Album)
  • Buono! – We Are Buono! (Album)
  • Berryz Koubou – Otakebi Boy WAO!/Tomodachi wa Tomodachi Nanda! (Limited C)
  • Berryz Koubou – 6th Otakebi
  • About $190 from H!SU which is mostly from 3 visual books, photosets, and Koha’s graduation shirt

Apart from that I am also considering adding a concert DVD to my collection and I wanted to add the Nine Smile concert DVD, but I will have to think it over since I have already spent well over my planned budget thanks to H!P’s recent release boom (I’m not complaining at all).

I will start working on the C-ute Best Of album review as soon as possible to possibly release it this weekend, although I would say that there is a 50% chance I might and a 50% chance that I might not. I will also update next week if I decided to buy the concert DVD since it will be my first one and I will have to think of the format for the review.

More news, if available will be updated on the review section.

Shuukan Yoro: It’s the 4th day in Maimi’s week about “Side dishes of the world”.

One of the dishes of this week comes from France (not America or Hawaii like some members say), a somewhat well known dish called “Escargot in bourguignon sauce” (not lasagna like Kanna said).

The next dish is from Australia and after calming Nacky down and calming her fears that it was Kangaroo meat Maimi reveals what the dish is: Crocodile steak. Mano even gets a chance to try it not knowing what it is and after the answer is revealed she exclaims a somewhat sincere “Poor crocodile”.

The episode has some really cute moments (Nacky’s reaction to the steak) and some funny parts so I recommend everyone who can to watch it.

S/mileage – “Otona ni Narutte Muzukashii!!!” PV Released

26 02 2010

The PV for S/mileage’s 4th indie single titled Otona ni Narutte Muzukashii!!! has been released.

For the most part I am very impressed with how well the PV came out since it certainly has a unique storybook theme mixed in with many interesting shots (similar to 3,2,1 BREAKIN’ OUT from Momusu), including the obligatory dance shot and close-up along with many more.

It would be very difficult to explain the PV scene by scene so I will try and highlight the many scenes that appeared, first the dance shot which happens in a frame with a very festive and cute background.

For the most part the dance shot doesn’t appear that much during the PV which is great since it means that there is more close-up shots but it is very interesting since the dance features some cute dance steps that match up with the happy beat of the song.

A big part of the PV is a shot of the girls having fun while singing the song which randomly appears from time to time from the bottom of the screen, and I have to admit that this is my favorite part of the PV since it is fun to see the girls having fun performing the song.

Among the many shots we also get a chance to see many other close-up shots of the girls wearing about 3 outfits including the costume for the single, and two other casual outfits. There are also many other shots which include the girls riding bikes, in school, in swings, etc.

Another big part of the PV is the film effect they use in the painting, and basically that effect makes it look like an image is moving backwards similar to a movie reel and I have to admit that it was a nice addition since it makes the PV look more unique, although sometimes it is a bit dizzying, especially when the painting rotates during the bridge of the song.

The number of shots used in the PV is quite a lot to count separately which is a good thing since it gives the PV variety and while watching it is difficult to be bored watching S/mileage performing the song and having fun.

Overall I am very impressed with the quality of the PV, and while it is basically just green screen and S/mileage it is an incredibly well done green screen PV with many different cute shots. The dance is extremely cute and looks like it is fun to perform since many of the dance steps only work as a group.

S/mileage has done an incredible job with this PV and single so hopefully it sells well when it is released.

The release date is set for 3/14.
