Shuukan Yoro! Vol 37

30 04 2010

Site Updates: I spent most of my past weekend and week finishing a report for school so I didn’t get a chance to update the About section as planned, but I do have ideas for questions to add to the section and I will try and add them today or by tomorrow since I will have these two days free.

Again I remind everyone that if you want to see a question answered about the site or me so that I can add it to the About section just ask on the comment section below since I am more than happy to answer any question (if it relates to H!P in some way).

Also I added a widget on the bottom with the site email in case anyone needs to ask me a question about H!P or the site, if you want me to add your H!P blog to the blogroll (only H!P blogs), or if you just want to contact me you can do so at that email address. I have had it for quite a while but I realized that not many people visit the About section so I decided to put it on the front page.

A note on the H!P Blogroll, if you have me added to your blog list and you have an H!P centered blog please send me an e-mail and I will add you to the list since it is somewhat hard for me to find each site that has this blog on the list.

Due to school work I have not had a chance to update some sections of the site, but I have tomorrow free before I have to start studying for exams so I will update the Upcoming Releases section as well as the H!P Birthday section and the About section by tomorrow.

Polls: The winner for this poll was Okai Chisato with 204 votes (36%) so congratulations Chisato! Fukuda Kanon came in second place with 196 votes (34%) and Kumai Yurina came in third with 173 votes (30%). There was a total of 573 votes for this poll.

Congratulations Chisato!

The results for the poll were all very close during all of the week which was very surprising since there is usually one member who stands out and eventually wins. This week Chisato and Kanon were in a constant tie for first place, and while Chisato eventually won everyone managed to get a great amount of votes. So congratulations Chisato on winning this weeks poll, and I wish good luck to Kanon and Kumai on the next one.

Just a reminder for those who don’t vote: If you do have a chance please do vote, it only takes two clicks and you help your favorite member appear as member of the week!

The next poll will include Morning Musume member Niigaki Risa, Berryz Koubou member Sudou Maasa, and S/mileage member Wada Ayaka:

To make it easier for fans I will provide the direct link to the poll HERE.

Please vote!

Reviews: Like I mentioned last week and above I am in currently very busy with school work so I have not had a chance to work on the reviews at all. I might have some time tomorrow to progress but I won’t be able to release any reviews until I am done with school for the semester so until then please enjoy the already released reviews.

There are still many reviews to do so I will work hard after May 15 to finish all of them soon so that you can check them out. The next review will be the Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai review with the H!SU 3rd order review as the next planned release, so I will try and get them done as soon as possible.

I will update with any more on the Review section.

Shuukan Yoro: It’s the 2nd Day in Jun Jun’s week about ” Train Station Lunches”.

The theme for today is “Unusual Train Station Lunch Boxes” and like last class Jun Jun tastes all of the lunches, from the Daruma bento to the Kiritanpo bento, and from her reactions you can tell that they are all very tasty.

Like always I will not spoil the episode so if you want to find out what happens please watch it since the episode is a must-see for all Jun Jun fans:

Michishige Sayumi – “Sayu” DVD Preview Released

30 04 2010

A preview of Sayu’s DVD titled Sayu has been released on Up-Front’s official Youtube.

I usually don’t do posts about clips from DVDs after they have been released since they are already available for everyone to see, but UFA has apparently changed their promotion strategy by releasing the previews of DVDs after the release date, so we have to rely on the cover to decide whether to get an H!P product or not.

This is the case with the preview for Sayu’s latest PB/DVD which has just been released today (about 3 days after the release of the DVD), and while I am a bit annoyed that we didn’t see it before I have to admit that the wait was worth it.

The preview features 1:30 minutes of the actual Sayu DVD as well as 1:34 from the Making Of for the PB which gives us a great look at what to expect from both of the releases, and after seeing the 3:04 minutes of the preview all I can say is that I definitely hope that all Sayu fans got a copy of the DVD along with their PB since the preview is one of the best I have seen.

I was actually speechless and staring at the replay screen at the end of the video for a few seconds since I was simply amazed at how beautiful Sayu looks in all of the preview, especially during the start which features some dreamlike scenes of Sayu playing around while looking at the camera.

It’s hard to describe the preview since there are many locations and scenes that range from the beach to a forest, room, as well as near some palm trees, and in all of the scenes Sayu looks as beautiful as always since the camera focuses only on her all the time.

Instead of going on and on about how Sayu is so beautiful, perfect, etc I will allow the preview to speak for itself since all Sayu fans, as well as many H!P fans, will agree with me that she looks incredible in all of the scenes.

After seeing the preview I can guarantee that I will buy a copy of the PB as soon as I can since the many scenes that were shown were all incredible and simply perfect, so hopefully all Sayu fans get a copy as well since this is one of Sayu’s best PB/DVD releases.

The DVD was released on 4/28.

Frances To Appear In A TV Drama

30 04 2010

Little Missy member Frances will appear in a TV drama titled 搖滾保母 Rock Baby. According to some sources the Pinyin for the title is Yaogun Baomu (“Rock Nanny”), which explains this image used in promotion:

I’m not sure if Frances is the star in the drama but I do know that she is one of the main actresses since she appears multiple times throughout trailers, apart from appearing in promotion events with other fellow cast members.

Seeing the trailer I have to admit that it is a great drama, although I probably won’t see it when it is aired (mostly because I can’t understand Chinese that well), but I urge anyone interested to watch it since it looks interesting.

Takahashi Ai 11th PB “Katachi” Cover Released

30 04 2010

The cover for Takahashi Ai’s 11th PB has been released, along with the title which has been revealed to be Katachi (English: Figure).

I have to admit that when I saw the cover I was very impressed with how great Ai-chan looks since her blue bikini (and the wet hair), the light background and the simple font they used for the title combine to make a simple but elegant themed cover that show of Ai-chan’s great figure.

The only thing I didn’t like as much is that the title for her PB is just the Japanese translation for the title of her DVD since it makes it seem like the people who made the DVD couldn’t come up with a better title. Despite that the title of the PB sounds impressing and fits perfectly with the picture of Ai-chan.

Like always I will have to wait for some previews before I decide on whether to get it or not but so far the cover is very impressing since it mixes a simple light background with a picture of Ai-chan in a blue bikini to make a simple and elegant cover that is sure to catch the eye of people passing by a store with the PB.

Hopefully some previews are released soon since the PB looks impressing so far.

The release date is set for 5/27.

Niigaki Risa Opens Up A Blog

30 04 2010

Niigaki Risa has opened up an Oricon Blog.

Here is the first entry:

新垣里沙ブログ 本日スタートです!
Niigaki Risa’s blog starts today!

Please treat me well.

The blog came as a result of a Ustream broadcast where Gaki-san was asked whether she would have a blog soon, she asked the staff and the staff approved it creating the blog on the spot during the broadcast. Gaki-san will decorate and design her blog.

I’m somewhat surprised that Niigaki got a blog this fast since it usually involves some kind of announcement before then a few days wait for the header and design, but I’m glad that Niigaki got her blog so fast (from what I have read Gaki-san was extremely excited and happy as well).

The design is basic since it was just recently opened so I will update later with the official header, but meanwhile it seems that Gaki-san is really excited to finally have a blog since she has posted about 7 times since it was opened some 3 hours ago, which is already very impressing when compared to Sayu or Reina’s blog.

Overall I am really glad that Gaki got a blog since she is very excited and happy to finally have a way to communicate with fans (from what I can tell from her 6 posts), and if Gaki is happy I am happy as a fan. I hope she can post regularly since it will be very interesting to see what she is doing during the day.

So far the only Morning Musume members to not have a regularly updated blog on Ameba, Oricon, or Gree are Takahashi Ai, Kamei Eri and Mitsui Aika so I hope that we can finally see blogs for them sometime soon.

Also a small note, the fans over at Hello! SG Fans are translating the blog so a big thank you to them since it will be easier for us overseas fans to understand her blog (the link is at the end of the post).

Mano Erina To Star In “Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: Kaiki”

29 04 2010

Mano Erina will debut as a film actress with the movie Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro Kaiki, a horror movie based on a TV series. According to Oricon she will also sing the theme song. The movie will premiere in September but a preview will be shown at AX.

Here is a more in-depth summary of the content of the articles (Source: NipponCinema):

The movie was directed by Makoto Shinozaki (Tokyo-jima) and is based on two short films, “Tsukimono” and “Nozomi”, from the omnibus horror television series “Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro”. The original series was broadcast on BS-TBS in 2003 and consisted of around 100 short films directed by major names in J-horror such as Norio Tsuruta (Orochi: Blood) and Takashi Shimizu (Ju-on). Mano will reportedly play two different roles in the film version.

“Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: Kaiki” is distributed by King Records. After Anime Expo (AX), which will take place in LA from July 1-4, it will be released at Theater N Shibuya in September 2010 with a nation-wide release to follow.

I’m glad that we finally get a confirmation for Mano’s movie since it has been quite some time since we last heard about her appearing in a movie (about 2 months ago). With Mano’s current appearances in DEATH GAME PARK she seems to already have some experience doing more serious roles so I have no doubt in my mind that she will do a great job in the movie.

From what I have found out about the TV series it seems that Mano will have to deal with many ghosts (somewhat similar to Maimi’s zombie movie), which shouldn’t be any problem since she is already a great actress. Here is a summary of the TV show and the story behind the title:

During the Edo Period, a high ranking samurai named Negishi Shizue began collecting the local ghost stories told amongst the prisoners under his guard. Writing each tale down, he collected the stories into a large bag (bukuro), a collection eventually comprised of more than 1000 ghostly tales. Negishi went on to publish this huge anthology in ten volumes entitled Mimi Bukuro, meaning “Bag of Ears”. (“Ears” here, of course, imply tales heard.) The Mimi Bukuro tales ranged widely in genre from the historic to the purely supernatural.

In 2003 an increasingly popular TV series entitled Kaidan Shin Mimi Bukuro began airing in Japan on BS-i (satellite) stations. The series consists of dramatized short films directed by some of the best and newest directors in Japanese horror. Like the original Mimi Bukuro the ghost stories, now approaching 100 in number, have been collected from folk throughout the country by writers Kihara Hirokatsu and Nakayama Ichiro. Each tale is assigned to a director under whose creative vision the horror and nuance of the story is given palpable expression.

Source: Sarudama

According to that source another movie with the same name was released a few years ago and it basically was a collection of 8 folk horror stories which were presented in a range from comedic to the truly spooky, so while we don’t have that much information about the stories in Mano’s movie we will most likely see something along the lines of past releases.

The images from the movie are a great indicator of what to expect and I have to admit that I am very intrigued since I am a fan of horror movies, and if Mano is appearing in one it is definitely a must see for me, as well as all H!P fans.

Hopefully more info is revealed soon since this movie will definitely be among my “must see” list when it is released.

The movie will be released during September.

S/mileage – “Yume Miru 15sai” PV Preview Released

29 04 2010

A preview for S/mileage’s debut single PV titled Yume Miru 15sai has been released on the latest Bijo Gaku episode.

The PV preview mainly consists of S/mileage dancing in front of streamers as well as many close-up shots which all look very impressing. After dancing for most of the song the lights go out and we only see their silhouettes dancing, after which they appear in black costumes.

I have to admit that I am very impressed with how well the PV looks since it is somewhat simple but dramatic in some parts of the PV, most noticeably during the part where the lights turn off and they change costumes.

The close-up shots are all very impressing since they feature many different shots of the girls looking at the camera while smiling or posing, and while I have to admit that they all look incredible, Kanon and Maeda stood out the most for me (mainly because they look incredibly cute).

The preview only features half of the PV so we don’t know how the rest of the PV looks but so far I like how great it looks. The preview gives us a good look at what to expect and with the many costume changes, scenes, stages and effects it manages to be a very impressing major debut PV.

I will wait for the full PV to express my full opinion but so far I like what I see, so hopefully we get the full PV soon since this will most likely be one of S/mileage’s best PVs.

The release date is set for 5/26.
