Preview of Kitahara Sayaka’s “Yappa Seishun” Released

5 05 2011

A preview of Kitahara Sayakai’s “Yappa Seishun” has been released.

Since the single is being used as the ending anime of Inazuma Eleven we get a preview of the song early. The only downside is there’s not PV clips to go along with it. (If there is a PV.) Despite that I think Kitahara does a wonderful job with the song.

Seishun means youth so when I heard the title I was expecting something similar to “Maji desu ka ska!” however this is quite different from it. The song has a serious feel to it and is a mid tempo song. The song has a light rock feel with a lot of pop mixed in. There’s one part where there’s a quick guitar solo and later a quick drum solo which is really nice.

It also reminds me of Berryz Koubou’s “Otakebi boy WAO!” except it’s a little slower. The main reason being the song is more serious and when Kitahara sings she uses a strong powerful voice, which reminds me of Risako’s voice.

The preview gives us an idea of what the full song will be like and I think it will be a good one. Hopefully a PV will also be released and maybe we can see that released soon. Good luck to Kitahara on her debut single, I hope many fans will support her.

The release date is set for 6/22.

Short Preview Of C-ute’s “Momoiro Sparkling” Released

5 05 2011

A short preview of C-utes “Momoiro Sparkling” has been released.

The preview comes at the very end of Hello!Pro Time featuring Berryz Koubou and their trip to Seattle. The song starts playing at 12:20 but the actually PV clips don’t come until about 12:33. The preview is about 20 seconds long but I like it so far.

The preview start with the members in a dance shot scene. They’re hoping around while holding the peace sign. They turn to the side and move their hands while singing.  Then they jump and the background turns white with pink bubbles floating around them. It goes to Chisato, she sings her lines and the scene switches to the dance. It repeats this way a few times with Mai being next, followed by Nakky and Maimi at the end. Near the end of the preview the girls are moving some beach chairs out of the way and there’s also a surfboard laying in the background.

When I watch the preview and listen to the song it reminds me a lot of their previous single, “Shochuu Omimai Moushiagemasu”. There are some parts where they sound and look really similar to me. For example the parts where they swing their hips at the end.

I really like the set for this PV so far. Especially the portion where they used bubble graphics. From the top of my head I can’t really name any H!P singles where they used any computer generated graphics so it’s really cool for C-ute to have that in their PV.

Also the song overall is a youthful sort of sound and different from their recent singles which is a nice change for fans.

Hopefully everyone can support C-ute and reserve a copy when it’s released. The release date will be on 5/25.

Morning Musume – “Only You” Concert Rip Released

5 05 2011

A concert rip for Morning Musume’s 46th single title Only You has been released.

The quality of the sound in the video is quite well compared to regular concert rips sicne we get to hear almost clearly the covals and the instrumental although wotas chants and the echo in the hall makes it hard to tell who is singing from time to time.

I have to say that I was simply amazed when I heard the song since it is a really strong and hard to sing beat that is a total contrast with Maji Desu ka Ska! since it brings back the older singles Momusu released such as Nanchatte Renai or Resonnant Blue, which might please many fans.

The song is mainly a Ai-Reina-Gaki main and starts off with an amazing heavy instrumental with a break where the music softens a little but the beat stays strong, then the chorus starts and the girls start singing each a line that fit beautifully with the instrumental mixed with a few high notes and music pinches.

The verses of the song are a little confusing since they consist of very short phrases mixed in between each other with a member singing the first and another continuing it on a very calm beat that only has drum sounds, and even though it has a kind of creepy feeling, it still adds a very unique touch to the song, specially with the part at 1:24 in the first verse where Gaki sings 2 strong lines that have a special beat to them which she does perfectly (when a HQ preview comes out, the verses may sound better).

A strong point of the song should be the fact that it is a very cool and deep song compared to Maji Desu ka Ska! but unfortunatly, the line distribution is back to Ai, Reina and Gaki this time with only Sayumi and Aika getting each 1 or 2 lines, and surprisingly enough, Riho seems to have many lines in the verses which might please her fans, but is still a shame for the other 9th gen members since they have no solo lines at all.

Overall, I have to say that this will be one of the most amazing releases from Morning Musume this year that will definitely please many fans, and hopefully Mizuki, Erina and Kanon will get some screentime in the PV to compensate the lack of lines.

The release date is set for 6/15.
