Shuukan Yoro! Vol 91

13 05 2011

Site News: The semester is officially over for me today after a long week of studying so I will now have more time to catch up on all of the promised work I have accumulated throughout the past few weeks, and since I don’t have much else planned for next week (except to catch up on some rest) I will make sure to get everything done as soon as possible.

Now that I’m out of school for a few months I will start to work more on projects I have thought of, so even though they are still in idea form (meaning I haven’t started them, but I have thought of them) I will try and finish and detail them as soon as I can so that everyone can check them out.

I also wanted to mention that there will finally be a new header in the next few days! The current one has been used for a lot of time (close to a year or more) so I am glad to see that the site will finally get a small refresh with a new header since it will give the site a new look.

The new header will be up during the next few days, so please look forward to it! Profiles, Upcoming Releases section, Birthday, and other sections will be updated for sure (no more school for a few months, and since it was my priority I can focus on my next priority, this site).

Polls: The winner for this poll was Shimizu Saki with 354 votes (37%), congratulations Captain! Tsugunaga Momoko came in second with 326 votes (34%), and Sugaya Risako came in third with 288 votes (30%).

There was a total of 968 votes for this poll.

Congratulations Captain!

Surprising results for this past week’s poll! As most of you are already aware Captain has had a pretty dedicated and solid fanbase which has helped her quite a bit in most of her polls since she has won most of them with a fairly big lead over other members, but instead of dominating the polls this time the results were a bit more spread out.

Momo had about 30 votes less than captain and Risako had about 40 less than Momo, which in comparison to previous polls is quite a big change since past polls have been dominated by one member (Reina or Ai for example), and while this might be a bit too close for some I am glad to see that all three of these members have great support from their fans.

Since all members did pretty good in this poll I don’t need to wish them luck since they have done a great job on their own, despite that I wish them luck anyways since they might have a future pairing with other members who have dominated the polls for other groups (mainly Ai), but for now congratulations Captain!

Next poll will feature Tokunaga Chinami, Hagiwara Mai, and Ogawa Saki, and despite having no clear advantage over the others I am looking forward to seeing if Chii or Mai will finally get their first win as members of the week since they each deserve to be members of the week at least once, although we will find out when the results are tallied up next week, so please vote!

Just a reminder for those who don’t vote: If you do have a chance please vote since it only takes two clicks and you help your favorite member appear as member of the week!

To make it easier for fans I will provide the direct link to the poll HERE.

Please vote!

Shuukan Yoro: It’s the 2nd day of Sudou Maasa’s week about “Ping Pong”.

Today the Ping Pong Berryz tournament will start and the first pair up will be Chinami against Momoko, and even though we don’t get to see the complete match it is pretty fun to see Momo’s cute playing poses.

Next up are Kumai against Risako and we get to see a bit less from their match, although the part where Kumai hit the ball toward Momo scaring her was pretty funny (she seems to be really easy to scare, especially when a ping pong ball is slowly hit towards her).

If you want to find out who won each match then please watch the episode since it is pretty interesting, and even though some people might not be fans of a slightly slower match of ping pong it is interesting to see Momo’s cute reactions.

Berryz Koubou – “Ai no Dangan” Full Radio Preview Released

13 05 2011

The full radio preview for Berryz Koubou’s 26th single titled Ai no Dangan (Eng: Bullet of Love) has been released.

I have to say that I was surprised that we already got the chance to listen to the full preview since the only other peek we got was from a short preview of the PV, and I recommend everyone to hear the song before the video is taken down or deleted.

The song starts off with a very rock-ish and upbeat instrumental followed directly by the chorus which is always nice to see since it immerges us in the spirit of the song, and I have to say that I’m very impressed by the lines repartition, the sound effects and mainly the awesome instrumental.

The chorus features almost all of the members each singing a line, followed by the verses that seem to be sectionned in 2 parts: the first from 0:41 to where the lines seem to be divided by couple of members singing together (2 each time if I’m not mistaking), and the second half from 1:08 to 1:20 is a more simpler sound that still adds a special touch to the song that is able to be upbeat and fierce while having a calm rythm.

I was really happy to hear Saki and Maasa more than usual in the song since their voices seem to fit perfectly the song along with Rii and Miya notably, and Kuma got a pretty decent amount of lines in the calm verse, even though I think that Chii only got to sing in the duo lines and group ones which is sad when we think that she had plenty of lines in Heroine ni Narou ka!

Another main part of the song is the amazing instrumental at 3:04 which combines guitar, synthesizer, and drum sounds followed by a parted rythm near the end where the chorus is yet again singed with more energy and fierceness, where a second chorus is combined with the first to create a very nice effect near 3:46, where we get to hear also 2 high notes by Saki.

I have to say that I’m very impressed with the song overall since in the past 2 singles, Berryz have been having some of the most remarquable instrumentals and are able to pull off many nice effects such as the repetitive chorus at the end of the song in both Ai no Dangan and Heroine ni Narou ka! where the beat only grows stronger and stronger.

Overall, I recommend everyone to listen to the song since it’s pretty catchy and hopefully a longer PV preview will be out soon or even a preview of the covers to check out the general theme.

The release date is set for 6/8.

Mano Erina – “MANO DAYS ~Hatachi no Hatsuko~” 3rd PB Announced

13 05 2011

Mano Erina’s 3rd PB titled MANO DAYS ~Hatachi no Hatsuko~ has been announced.

As you might remember Mano Erina’s 3rd solo DVD was announced back in late April, so it was just a matter of time until we got a confirmation of her 3rd PB, and I’m glad to see that we do since the title and the preview image (not the cover) we get are both amazing.

First, the title means something along the lines of MANO DAYS ~20 Year Old’s First Love~ (or MANO DAYS ~20 Year Old’s Puppy Love~ according to another translation) which is a pretty cute title since it could means that we could have a cute love theme although we will most likely not see that much of a theme since most PBs usually follow the “casual clothes – bikini” theme a bit more, despite that the title is great and it seems like perfect title for a Mano PB.

Second, the preview image we got is simply amazing since Mano looks gorgeous while wearing what appears to be a pink dress (or bikini, either way it has a low cut) in front of a pink background while doing an incredible pose where she looks at the camera while holding a strand of hair, and while it’s only one picture I am really looking forward to the PB now since the picture is one of the best I have seen from any PB release.

Overall the PB so far looks amazing since it has a cute title that many fans will love along with one picture which does a perfect job of showing off Mano’s beauty as well as summarizing all of the amazing pictures we can expect to see in her next PB (an image is worth a thousand words, and this image is a perfect example of that).

Hopefully everyone can reserve their copy of the PB as soon as possible since this release will most likely be as amazing as her other releases.

The release date is set for 6/10.

Morning Musume – “Only You” Full Radio Preview Released

13 05 2011

The full radio preview of Morning Musume’s 46th single titled Only You has been released.

I have to say that I was very surprised with the preview since it is very different from the live version, mainly because of all the sound effects added to it and the fact that even with the present radio rip, we can’t tell how many lines each member got.

The beginning of the song is a part we didn’t get to hear quite well in the concert rip which consists of a strong and heavy instrumental of electric guitar and synthesizer, which seems to me like if they are in a garage with all of the sounds. The chorus that follows is pretty similar to the one we got to hear since it only has Ai and Reina singing in it.

The verses that seemed weird in the concert rip may seem even weirder for some fans since they aren’t completely accorded with the beats in the instrumental and the lines of each member are accompanied with heavy drum beat and robotic sound effect which isn’t displeasing, but a big difference compared to the concert preview, since we get to hear many effects like heavy sounds or metallic intonations that sometimes cover the member’s voices.

I was kind of disappointed to see Gaki’s strong lines actually having a robot-feeling to them since it was a rare opportunity for her to show off her strong voice, but this will still be a great song in concerts where she and the other members will be able to pull off their singing skills.

Also, the music break at 4:05 seems to really fit the song since it gives it a some kind of fresh beat and feeling which we didn’t get to hear, and I have to say that I’m overall impressed with the song even though we still have to wait for the PV to see which lines each member got to sing.

Overall, I recommend everyone to listen to it a few times before judging and hopefully a PV preview will come out in the next few weeks.

The release date is set for 6/15.
