According to a notice from the official Momusu 9th gen audition site they have begun to send pass notices to girls from the Hokkaido, Kinki, and Tohoku regions of Japan for the 2nd phase of the audition process.
The second exam of the audition process will take place in Hokkaido and Osaka in a few days, and it will require a Q&A, PR, and singing a song acapella. Girls from other regions are asked to wait a while longer.
It’s great that we are finally getting news about the auditions since it has been quite a while since we have heard something about them, and even though they have just sent the notifications to girls from a few regions in Japan it will be fun to see how many girls there were in each region (since each region is getting their own 2nd exam it is safe to say that there are quite a few).
It’s interesting to see that they are starting the 2nd phase so soon after notifying those who auditioned to prepare since they literally have only a few days to learn a song, but hopefully everyone has already chosen a song and is practicing as much as possible.
Hopefully we get to hear from other girls who have passed the first phase of the auditions soon, although it seems that most will be too busy preparing for the exams in their region.
The second examination will take place in Hokkaido on 10/9 and Osaka on 10/11.

If you want suggestions for improvements, I thought of something. You used to have “release posts” which you stopped a while back, and which just went over the releases of that day. E.g. normally a new single, another group’s singleV and a photobook.
It may not be a big change, but I liked those posts because it reminded everyone of the releases, but it was also a kind of finish line. Fan spend months waiting for a release, but when the release day happens, it just passes rather uneventfully…
It’s just a suggestion, but please don’t do it if it’s too much work.
Also super curious about the 9th gen. I’ve never experienced MM at a time of this much change, but it’s nice to see how it evolves, the way Tsunku originally intended (even though it’s sad to see favourites leave…) I hope we get some really promising new talents!

Thank you for your comment, I stopped the release posts for a while since I started school (or something close to that, I don’t remember well XD), but I have thought many times of starting the posts again since I really like to do them ^_^
I really like your description since it is a perfect way to describe the posts, they were somewhat of a finish line and they reminded fans to pick up a single or another type of release since I tried to include as much information as possible (song previews, PB images, etc), and thanks to that I really want to do them again XD
I will try and start to do the release posts again since they were a great way for me to share comments on single releases, and even though I can’t promise I will start to do them immediately I will do them again as soon as possible ^_^

Ahhh this is so exciting! It’s my first Musume audition as well (^-^) I hope when they have the TV spot on the whole audition process (like they did with 7th generation and 5th) that Hello!Fansubs will sub it :)

I think the reason for the “rush” notices is because the graduations are coming soon and they need to get the new members ready to fill in those spots. But atleast they let the eggs audition so the eggs have some sort of experience.. so if the eggs join then it’s a little bit of an easier transaction… i wonder what kind of members are joining..
Damn I really Wanted Yuu in as an egg…DAMNIT! THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD THESE AUDITIONS THE SECOND KOHA LEFT >;O
Do they do international auditions? Or is it only for Japan?
There is no rule against international auditions and there have been some for Korea and China (not all for Momusu), but it is somewhat expected that most foreigners from the US or Europe won’t audition due to the language barrier and the difficulty of adapting their life to being an idol (something which not many non-Japanese understand well) ^_^
I auditioned for morning musume but I live in America will they still send me the package if I pass to the second stage?
All applicants who were selected will receive a letter with information about the second phase of the audition ^_^
So most likely in the event that an overseas applicant is selected they will also send them a letter, although they might also call them since letters take quite a bit longer to get to other countries outside Japan (there is no mention on the official site about overseas applicants so we have no clear idea though).

Well a few more regions have been judged and from what I think I understand (not sure though), the first stage of the judging is over, so we will most likely get some news about the 2nd stage sometime soon ^_^
