Morning Musume’s 44th single, currently untitled, has been announced on E-hon. The single will be available in 4 versions: Regular, Limited A (+ DVD), Limited B (+ DVD), and Limited C (+ DVD).
I was expecting a new single announcement from Momusu sometime soon since they have just finished promotion for their last single and I’m glad to see that they have just done so since it gives us a chance to start wondering what kind of new sound they will have for their new single.
The release date is a bit far off in October but at least it gives Momusu a chance to get some (hopefully good) promotion before the single is released and with the recent new promotion strategies that they have been trying out on other groups I do hope that they try some of them out on Momusu too (such as posters with singles, something which S/mileage and just recently Mano already do).
According to Reina and Sayu they have recently started recording for what seems to be the new single, so most likely recording and editing for the song is still taking place right now, which means that a preview for the single should come sometime in late August or early September.
Despite that I look forward to finding out what kind of new sound Tsunku will surprise us with, and hopefully in the coming weeks we get hints from the girls through their blogs or at least a title that could hint at what kind of style we will see them try out next.
The release date for the single is set for 10/13, and the release date for the Single V is set for 10/20.

YAY! Wait..OCTOBER?? September is understandable but Only C-ute releases songs so unfrequently.
Actually Momusu have released a single each 4 months for a while now (since Nanchatte) and so have C-ute and Berryz, and if you notice there seems to be a pattern with releases lately:
April – C-ute “Campus Life”
May – Mano Erina “Onegai Dakara…”
June – Morning Musume “Seishun Collection”
July – Berryz Koubou “Maji Bomber!!”
August – C-ute “Dance de Bakoon!”
September – Mano Erina “Genkimono de Ikou!”
October – Morning Musume
It seems that they are releasing an H!P single each month following the seniority pattern: Momusu, Berryz, C-ute, Mano (repeat). The only group that doesn’t follow this pattern is S/mileage who release every two months.
It’s actually better this way since it gives them a chance to focus on promoting a group each month instead of having to divide attention (they have the pattern but hopefully they soon improve promotion), although I have no idea if they will continue to use this pattern or if they will go back to releasing randomly every 3-4 months like they used to ^_^

seishun collection wasn’t one of my favorites, but i hope that this next one will have promise :D

momosu is soo much better than them and they dont have 2 lower themselves to selling their bodies to sell singles.

Hmmm, I heard a few rumors that after the 44th single there would be auditions again, but hey, maybe just rumors? In any case, I can’t wait to hear what the next song will be like!! <3
Basically rumors are just that, rumors, so until we get news from Tsunku or UFA directly we can’t really say when we could see auditions, but Tsunku mentioned that there are plans for an audition so from what I can guess it should happen soon ^_^

I would really be excited about that, but if there is auditions in the near future, i hope more than one person makes the morning musume cut.
I want like a 3 person or 4 person generation, but i dont think that would happen since nine seems like a great number to keep morning musume and I liked it at nine
Although it does seem that when they have more people, the more fun it is and the more even the lines are distributed :)

I totally agree. The more teh merrier! I love current Momusu, but I like the line distribution that they did in old Momusu, so hopefully if there is another audition soon, then there are more winners and they get lines, or at least start giving lines to the 8th gen!! O_O
