Lin Lin and Saho Akari Will Form a Special Unit For A Mini-live

12 08 2011

According to a tweet from famous Japanese Pop Culture writer Takamasa Sakurai, Lin Lin and Saho Akari from Up Up Girls will form a special unit and perform in a mini-live for a Chinese girl’s Harajuku fashion show in China.

This was confirmed by the S/mileage staff account who re-tweeted the announcement:

This was a really surprising announcement since I didn’t expect to see Lin Lin perform with a UFA member again, much less with the leader of the Up Up Girls, but I’m really looking forward to seeing this performance since it seems like it will be a fun event with a unique and interesting unit.

So far there hasn’t been any other details about this special unit so it will most likely just be a temporary event to promote UFA, but I hope we get to see this mini-unit perform some more since it seems like a unique and interesting duo, although they will most likely just cover songs instead of singing a new song.

More details should be released in the next few days since the event is scheduled for the end of this month, so hopefully we get to see some pictures from Lin Lin and Saho getting ready for the event from their blogs to find out just what kind of theme they will have, but for now I am really happy to see that this unique and surprising unit was formed.

The mini live will take place on 8/27 in Harbin, China.

Saho Akari To Appear on “Zakigami”

19 07 2011

Saho Akari will appear on the TBS show Zakigami.

It seems that she will only appear in one segment of the show but it’s great to see that the UP UP Girls are making more appearances on TV shows since it gives them a chance to promote their group as well as their own talent, and with an appearance on a show led by Yaguchi it will most likely be a very interesting segment.

I’m not sure what the theme of the segment will be but I encourage fans to check out the show if they can since the show already features Yaguchi, and with Akari it will most likely be even better.

Hopefully we get to see a clip of the show once it has already aired but for now I’m happy to see that Saho will appear on a show.

The appearance will air on 7/22 from 1:25 ~ 1:55 (JST).

Saho Akari and Satou Ayano To Appear In a TV Drama

19 07 2011

According to a blog entry on the UP UP GIRLS blog, Saho Akari and Satou Ayano will appear in a drama titled Yuusha Yoshihiko to Maou no Shiro on TV Tokyo.

A set date for their appearance hasn’t been released so we don’t have a clear idea when they might be on but it will most likely be in the next few weeks or sometime soon since the announcement was done about a week ago.

The drama seems to center around comedy with a focus on a more historical theme, although from what I can tell Saho and Satou won’t have that big of a part since the drama already started a few weeks ago, but they may be the main characters in their episode so we’ll have to wait to find out.

Despite not having that much info about their appearance we should find out soon what kind of role they had so hopefully we get to see a clip or two once the episode airs.

The drama airs every Friday at midnight (24:00 JST).

Sengoku Minami and Saho Akari Are Officially Part Of UFZS

16 05 2011

Sengoku Minami and Saho Akari are now officially part of UFZS.

I’m not sure if they were formally introduced as members in a recent event or if this post from the Jinsei site confirmed the addition, but I’m glad to see that UFZS has added a few more members to their lineup (technically a second generation) since it gives them more members to perform at events as well as more talent so that they can sing and dance to more songs.

Sengoku was seen around UFZS quite a few times although she wasn’t named as an official member, and when Saho joined she wasn’t immediately announced as a member, but a confirmation gave us a chance to find out for sure that these two members will now be part of the group.

UFZS have been singing and dancing quite a lot in their recent events, and since they seem to be pretty popular I wouldn’t be surprised to see that they become more than a dance cover group, but for now I wish Sengoku and Saho the best and I hope we get to see them perform at events pretty soon.

Saho Akari Joins Up Front Girls

3 05 2011

Saho Akari has joined Up Front Girls.

The news was revealed live on a Nico Nico Douga broadcast of the UFZS event where 15,000 viewers watched for one hour and 22 minutes while the group performed their cover of Kpop as well as a few H!P songs (specifically Romantic Ukare Mode and Suki-chan).

The news was a surprise for the members present at the event and after Saho appeared on stage they performed All For One And One For All.

I was very surprised to hear about Saho joining the Up Front Girls since most fans expected to hear news about her becoming a soloist or doing some other kind of solo work, but even though it might not be exactly what fans wanted I am very glad to see that will join the group.

Since the group has performed songs apart from doing dance covers of Kpop groups it seems more and more likely that we might see a single release in the future, but I hope we get a confirmation soon about what the manager for the group meant about their debut since this group has quite a lot of potential and talent.

Congratulations to Saho for joining the group and while the group is relatively new I look forward to finding out what future plans the group has in store for fans.

Saho Akari To Complete Her Egg Training, Hello! Pro Egg Shiodome AX Event Rescheduled

18 04 2011

According to a recent FC announcement Saho Akari will finish her training before the rescheduled event for Hello! Pro Egg’s Shiodome AX.

The announcement was done somewhat quickly and without any details since it was mentioned in about one sentence underneath the info for the H!P Egg rescheduled event, which is very disappointing since I would have liked to see a more detailed post about what she is planning to do after.

Despite that I am a bit worried since the already small lineup of Eggs is getting even smaller with the graduation of the current unofficial leader Saho, which leaves only 9 Eggs for the scheduled event, a really small amount compared to their last event.

Most likely we will see even more Eggs graduate as the months go by although it seems that there will be 9 Eggs for the event at Shiodome for sure, but hopefully we get to find out what will happen to the Eggs since there has been a massive amount of “training completions” in the past few months.

There are no details about what Saho will do once she completes her training, but according to some fans more details will be released soon so hopefully we get to find out whether she will focus on acting, singing, or do something else, although I hope we get to see her sing some more since she is a really talented singer.

Hopefully Egg fans decide to attend the event since the large amount of graduations will no doubt have a large effect on the number of fans left (since with every graduation not only does the member leave, the fans most likely leave with her), but I hope we can find out what kind of songs the Eggs will sing or what they will do at the event.

The H!P Egg Shiodome AX Event will be on 6/19.

“2010 Hello! Pro Egg Norimen Live Ni-gatsu” Concert Announced

15 12 2009

The next Hello! Pro Egg concert, titled 2010 Hello! Pro Egg Norimen Live Ni-gatsu has been announced. This concert will be different from the others since it will include only a few H!P Egg’s, the one’s selected for this concert are:

  • Sengoku Minami
  • Kikkawa Yuu
  • Furukawa Konatsu
  • Sainen Mia
  • Mori Saki
  • Sayaka Kitahara
  • Saho Akari
  • Takeuchi Akari
  • Guest: S/mileage

The list includes the first 7 eggs plus Akari, with S/mileage as a special guest. They probably added S/mileage to give more chances to the H!P Egg fans to see them perform before they debut (or to get more people to come to the concert).

Overall this is a great decision since the amount of H!P Egg’s included is somewhat small, which was probably done to give the girls a better chance at standing out.

Hopefully we get to see more opportunities for the H!P Egg’s to stand out since most of them have potential to become great singers.

The concert is scheduled for 2/28 with two performances at Yamano Hall in Tokyo.
