Hello! Pro Egg (ハロプロエッグ)

Consists of girls selected through an audition process (or who are added specially by Tsunku) who are recieving free dance and vocal lessons in the hopes that they will one day be able to debut as a full idol within Hello! Project. Not yet being full members within Hello! Project, the girls don’t receive a great deal of work, mainly just performing at concerts as backing dancers for the major acts.

In June 2004, 32 winners were selected from the 10,570 applicants of the Hello! Pro Egg Audition. During February 2006, a second audition was held and three more winners were selected into this group. Since then individual members have been added by Tsunku, including Maeda Irori, Kikkawa Yuu, and Linlin.

In June 2006, Mano Erina, Ogura Manami, and Mutou Mika, the winners of the “Up-Front Group “Egg” Audition”, joined the group.

During the Akasaka HOP! concert in June 2008, three new members were announced: Fukumura Mizuki, Kaneko Rie, and Takeuchi Akari. At the Yokohama JUMP! concert in November 2008, another new member was announced: Miyamoto Karin, a winner of the “Up-Front Egg Audition”. In the April 2009 issue of De☆View (released in March 2009), Sato Ayano appeared alongside Noto Arisa and Kaneko Rie, as a Hello! Pro Egg member. During the Yokohama HOP! concert in April 2009, Sato Ayano’s membership was officially announced, as well as the addition of new member Sezaki Azusa.

Hello! Pro Egg mostly serve as backup dancers at various Hello! Project concerts. Some Eggs have also acted in various dramas, plays, and musicals. There is currently one unit made up entirely of Eggs: Tomoiki Ki wo Uetai and Shugo Chara Egg! who regularly participate in cultural festivals alongside Morning Musume.

Several Eggs also participate in Gatas Brilhantes H.P.: Korenaga Miki and Mutou Mika are full-time players, while Mano Erina, Noto Arisa, Sawada Yuri, and Sengoku Minami serve as reserve players. These six are also members of Ongaku Gatas, the first Hello! Project unit to feature both H!P members and Eggs. Tanaka Anri is a trainee and former player of Little Gatas.

In January 2008, Korenaga Miki graduated from Hello! Pro Egg to concentrate on Gatas Brilhantes H.P. and Ongaku Gatas. Noto Arisa took her place as leader of Hello! Pro Egg.

Former Eggs Okada Yui, Arihara Kanna, and Linlin have debuted in Hello! Project groups while THE Possible has debuted in TNX. As of 2007, all of the members of Hello! Pro Egg have officially debuted in concert in the Shinjin Kouen concert series.

On April 4th, Tsunku created S/mileage, from the former members of Shugo Chara Egg! adding Ogawa Saki to replace Saho Akari.

Tsunku annonced that S/mileage members Maeda Yuuka, Wada Ayaka, Fukuda Kanon, and Ogawa Saki were going to graduate from eggs into full time members of Hello! Project in spring 2010.

On December 21, 2010 Sengoku Minami completed her training as an Egg, her next activity was planned to be a stage play.

On December 24, 2011 it was announced that Kikkawa Yuu had completed her training and she would appear as an opening act for H!P concerts from 1/2 ~ 1/23 in preparation for future work as a solo artist.

On January 17, 2011 it was announced that Mori Saki had finished her training as an H!P Egg, her next activity was a stage play.

On January 31, 2011 it was announced that Furukawa Konatsu had completed her training as an H!P Egg.

On March 3, 2011 Furukawa Konatsu, Mori Saki, Arai Manami, Satou Ayano, and Sekine Azusa joined UFZS, a dance cover group representing Up Front Company.

On March 10, 2011 it was announced that Kiatahara Sayaka, Satou Ayano, Arai Manami, and Sekine Azusa had completed their training as Eggs. Kitahara Sayaka joined Tight Pro Corporation, an agency under UFA.

On April 18, 2011 it was announced that Saho Akari had finished her training as an Egg, a few weeks later on May 3, 2011 it was revealed that Saho Akari would join UFZS.

On May 16, Sengoku Minami and Saho Akari officially joined UFZS.

Your Eggs need to be cleaned out, only these ones are still active:

Aoki Erina (青木英里奈)
Tanaka Anri (田中杏里)
Sainen Mia (西念未彩)
Saho Akari (佐保明梨)
Okai Asuna (岡井明日菜)
Komine Momoka (古峰桃香)
Kaneko Rie (金子りえ)
Takeuchi Akari (竹内朱莉)
Miyamoto Karin (宮本佳林)
Sezaki Azusa (瀬崎あずさ)
Hirano Tomomi (平野智美)
Katsuta Rina (勝田里奈)
Takagi Sayuki (高木紗友希)
Tanabe Nanami (田邉奈菜美)
Kizawa Runa (木沢留那)

J-Ongaku.org hasn’t updated and HelloProject.Wikia.com hasn’t added Jang Da Yeon yet.

Actually that list is also out of date ^_^;;

JPM lists the current members and it seems that there are only 10 current members: Saho Akari (current leader), Nagasawa Wakana, Takagaki Sayuki, Kaneko Rie, Takeuchi Akari, Katsuta Rina, Miyamoto Karin, Kudou Haruka, Tanabe Nanami and Jang Da Yeon.

Although most of the graduations weren’t announced it seems that most of the Eggs decided to leave quietly or they didn’t renew their contract and left for personal or academic reasons.

– Aoki Erina has been one of those members that joined and never did anything so most likely she isn’t an Egg anymore
– Tanaka Anri also participated in some concerts but she hasn’t appeared in any recent events so it’s safe to say she isn’t an Egg anymore
– Sainen Mia is also among those that seems to have stopped doing events at a certain point
– Okai Asuna seems to have left as well since she hasn’t appeared in recent events
– Komine Momoka seems to be an interesting case since I remember reading about a fan asking Mano at a handshake event about her and whether she had graduated and her response was a sad nod, although that hasn’t been confirmed it’s safe to say she isn’t an Egg
– Sezaki Azusa joined the Eggs and never did anything (we don’t even have an official picture from her, just a small blog picture from a personal blog)
– Hirano Tomomi also seems to have graduated since she hasn’t appeared in recent events

This is a non-confirmed list of the Eggs that left, but it seems that it is correct since a lot of Eggs left during these past 6 months (some like Aoki or Sezaki joined but never did anything which might mean they changed their mind), and since UFA hasn’t offered a list of the current Eggs it’s up to the fans to find out who is and who isn’t an Egg by finding out through recent events, and since some Eggs like Maeda Irori didn’t announce their graduation but suddenly appeared in audition videos for groups such as AKBN0 it’s safe to say that most didn’t update their contracts and quietly left.

I will update this page by tonight since most of the H!P Profile section is really out of date ^_^;;
Thank you for reminding me ^o^

Yeah, I thought the list I posted seemed a little big. I had heard it was only ten including Jang. They did some major clearing out of the Eggs. Years of waiting for a debut, I think some of them (or their parents) were just tired of it.

I’m really happy for Akari, but hopefully she’s debut soon in something a little more lasting than Aa!.

Tomomi Hirano… I think that she has finished what she wanted to do in H!P. I read at several sources that she joined the eggs for studying purposes (university) and that she did a research about how a lot of girls of different ages work together at the same place. Maybe she wrote her degree thesis (diploma, bachelor, master or something similar) and finished university in or before March (around the same time as Konkon). She was clearly in the lineup of the last egg concert in November 2010, but nowhere to be found in the setlist for the songs, so maybe she just said goodbye there.

Azusa Sezaki… it seems that she immediately left after joining as she really _never_ appeared in anything, not even at egg concerts.

I suppose that H!P never announces egg leavings when they quit voluntarily/just “leave” and not graduate. That may also apply for e.g. Sawada Yuri (as she graduated because of school/studying), but she had been in a “main group” (Ongaku Gatas) back then. It would be good if someone knew whether the dropout of past eggs (Mirei Hashida, Ayumi Yutoku, Mika Mutou, Maho Ooyanagi, Miyuki Kawashima) had been announced by H!P back then, or not.

I was a bit suprised when I read that Runa Kizawa also left. Maybe she decided to leave after being in “Seishun no Serenade” Pv, who knows.

Even websites like generasia have already updated the egg lineup with 9 eggs that are left.

About Tomomi, the rumor that she had joined the Eggs for studying purposes was simply a rumor, she joined the Eggs and due to her age most of them thought that she didn’t join the Eggs to become the idol, but since she never stated the reason we will most likely never know ^_^

There have been a few Eggs that simply joined then decided that they didn’t want to continue (it was too demanding, there were too many rules, it affected school, etc) Sezaki Azusa is one of them. If I remember clearly she did appear for one or a few promo shots for pictures, but apart from that I have no idea ^_^

I don’t think they announce the Eggs leaving for a few reasons, most likely because most fans don’t pay that much attention to them (realistically most don’t even know the name of one Egg) and releasing statements about how 20 Eggs from the current 28 left (for example) would seem like it would hurt the company’s image since it would look like nobody wants to stay with them.

Sorry about the lack of updates but I was a bit busy with an unexpected situation during the weekend ^_^;;
Generasia can be edited by anyone (not too mention it’s the most visited wiki site by jpop fans), which has its pros and cons since that means it is almost always up to date since they have the help of thousands of fans (but people have to volunteer to check those facts), while the Profile section in this site can only be edited by me since I am the only one that has access to edit them.

As a result of being the only one in charge of the Profile, Discography, Upcoming Releases, Birthday, etc sections I sometimes can’t keep up with all of the updates do to having to do other things apart from that, but today I am going to be at home most of the day and I plan on working on the Profile section so I should have most of the section ready ^_^
