S/mileage – Uchouten LOVE (Single)

Debuted at #4 On Oricon Charts

1. Uchouten LOVE

2. Chu! Natsu Party (Regular) / Jitensha Chiririn (Limited)

3. Uchouten LOVE (Instrumental)

Ayuchii

This is the single that has got many fans wonder about S/mileage’s future as a group since it is their last single as a 4-nin group before new members are added, and I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed at all with the release since the amazing covers, the great tracklist and specially the main song that had an eurobeat instrumental all along combine to make it one memorable release for the 4-nin group S/mileage.

This single really had many fans wondering if S/mileage will be able to come out of the very cute style they have been in lately, and specially with the makority not liking Koi ni Booing Buu!, and it’s a pleasant surprise that we see S/mileage as we know them taking off their cute energy in a very original and special song such as this one.

From the title when it was first released, I expected a very cute PV almost similar to their last single and a song totally different from the actual one, so it’s a great surprise for me and many to see that they were able to keep S/mileage’s unique image and try out a new style that seemed to fit them well since the girls really did their best vocally and were amazing in the very cute PV with many scenes.

The originality of this single from it’s title to it’s covers and outfits really make it stand out from the rest of S/mileage’s singles, and I’m glad to see that the tracklist complements the whole release with it being special with a cover song as a B-side for the Regular Edition and 4 Limited Edition with a new original song as a c/w that just got me like S/mileage more and more, and with the special DVDs that accompagny the Limited Editions that would make anyone happy thanks to the various scenes in the PV.

You can also enjoy the Dance Shot Vers. provided by smileagechannel before thinking of buying the Limited A vers. that has it on it’s DVD, but I highly recommend anyone who wants to enjoy a Limited Edition to have Limited A since it features the main scene of the PV, and for once, it’s a very entertaining dance shot:

For me, this release is really special as for many fans, and it wouldn’t be exagerating giving it a 5 for Excellent since it’s really what S/mileage are all about (the amazing A-side, cool and unique covers, amazing coupling tracks, awesome PV, alternative covers of the song, special events, etc…) and hopefully everyone can purchase a copy to enjoy the release and support S/mileage!

Ado

S/mileage’s last 4-nin single is simply the perfect release for them since it shows off an energetic and happy euro beat inspired instrumental along with catchy lyrics, and with a variety of covers to choose from and with a c/w that has a contrasting but peaceful sound it is well worth a buy for any S/mileage fan.

This single has 5 versions, which is quite a lot compared to other H!P releases, and while it might be a bit more difficult for fans to choose their favorite I am glad to see that they continue to release so many versions since it gives us more choices to choose from. From the covers I would say that they all have some kind of characteristic that makes them stand out, from the Regular edition with S/mileage sitting on a bench while posing cutely, to the Limited A version with S/mileage in front of a chalkboard full of cute drawings (and a dangerous pose by Kanon), the Purikara styled Limited B, the cute and accessory filled Limited C, or the school themed Limited D they each have a unique theme that looks fantastic.

It’s hard to choose a favorite but I would say that Regular, Limited A, and Limited B all have a cute look that I really liked, and everyone will also love since they show off the bright personalities that each member has, but the rest of the covers are still pretty impressive since they have a unique theme that will most likely appeal to different fans.

As for the song I love it since it has a catchy and fun sound with a euro beat theme which is pretty unique since it sets apart from the mature ballads that many groups are releasing. The PV does a perfect job of showing off the song since it contains dozens of shots and angles, giving the PV enough variety and effects to make anyone watching it enjoy it from start to end, which is easy when you have a disco ball made out of heart shaped balloons and shots of the members having fun while singing.

The b-side is a complete contrast to the a-side since the title Jitensha Chiririn seems to reflect more on a peaceful ride on a bike through town, and while I usually tend to skip ballads when I listen to music I have listened to this song quite a few times since the sound is perfect to accompany the energetic a-side.

While this might be the last 4-nin release this doesn’t mean that their future releases will be any less enjoyable since S/mileage have done a perfect job of performing a large variety of songs that reflect the theme of the group and the many personalities that each member has, and this release with a large variety of covers, a euro beat catchy a-side as well as a calm, peaceful b-side it is definitely a must have for everyone, definitely a 5 for me.

Suzuki Airi – Natsu Karada! (DVD)

Ayuchii

Suzuki Airi’s 5th solo DVD titled Natsu Karada! (Summer Body) and her 4th solo release of the year that follows her previous 2 solo PBs and her 4th DVD Kibun Tenkan.

It has been a very busy year for Airi with all of her releases, but I’m happy to see that Airi was able to pull them through and still make each one unique and special, and while this DVD might be intreeguing to many fans because it’s a play on words with Buono!’s 12th single Natsu Dakara! (Because it’s summer), it’s still an awesome release that any Airi fan would be happy to have.

Even though we don’t have any previews since today’s release is the DVD (if it was the Blu-ray, we’d probably have some kind of preview from the DVD), but I’m sure that anyone who already has a previous Airi DVD will know what amazing personality she has and how special she makes her solo releases, and hopefully those who don’t have one yet will be tempted to buy a copy of this release to support Airi and check out what awesome content it will have!

Since I don’t know the exact contents of the DVD, I can’t really judge if it will be entertaining or if most will not like it, but knowing Airi and how awesome she is, I’ll give it a decent 3 for fans to then make up their mind if it deserves more or less.

Ado

Airi has always been a favorite when it comes to PB and DVD releases since she has released a DVD and/or PB very regularly throughout the past few years, and with this recent consecutive release it seems that fans of other members were a bit disappointed to see her getting so much attention, which is understandable since we got about 4 releases announced at the same time. Despite that it’s hard to deny that Airi definitely has the personality and the cuteness for DVDs, and while I haven’t seen that many previews for this release from the cover alone it’s easy to see that this will once again be an amazing Airi release.

The cover features Airi at a rural train station waiting in a school outfit, and while the theme might be a bit different than what we are used to I am happy to see that the cover doesn’t feature a bikini since it gives the release more of a cute and casual look. Along with the interesting choice of setting the school outfit seems to somewhat fit in since it seems to suggest that Airi just got out of school and is waiting for the train ride home, and with the rural setting in the background it really makes the scene come together perfectly.

The title is obviously a pun of Buono’s latest release Natsu DAKARA! and it seems to reflect Airi’s love of puns really well, and with a meaning of Summer Body the expectation for many bikini shots is really high, which contrasts really well with the cover since it seems to hide the content of the DVD.

I usually don’t like solo DVDs since watching a member stare at the camera in various outfits isn’t as appealing as seeing a PB, but for the most part this release is perfect for fans who enjoy seeing the background behind each picture since we find out how each picture and scene was done. For me this release gets a 4 since it has a lot of Airi for fans to enjoy and since I’m a big Airi fan as well I look forward to watching at least a few previews to find out what outfits she will be wearing and where.

Dream Morning Musume Concert Tour 2011 Haru no Mai ~Sotsugyousei DE Saikessei~ (PB)

Ayuchii

The long awaited release of the Live PB for Dream Morning Musume’s first concert together will finally be available today!

As many fans might know, DMM is one of the best performing groups in concerts since all of the members had years and years of training within Morning Musume, and any previous and current Morning Musume fan will definitely be more than happy to have a live photo document of all of the members containing pictures of them on and off stage, to remember somewhat the old era of Morning Musume through it’s members.

Even though I’m a recent fan and know the OG members only by name and face, I don’t doubt the talent and energy all of them have and provide to the fans while performing, so this release full of their pictures performing together for the first time as Dream Morning Musume will be a must-have for those who can’t provide themselves with the DVD of the concert, or for those who want to complement this release.

I won’t talk too much about this release since I can’t give a decent opinion about each one of the girls, but I’m sure that every Morning Musume fan who’s still overwhelmed with the OG’s talent and charm will like to have this PB first as a memory of their first concert together and secondly to enjoy the pictures.

I will give also a 3 for this release and hopefully everyone can purchase a copy!

Ado

The DVD release might be a month away but PB releases are always the second best way to relive the concert since the large amount of photos from the stage and the backstage each carry a great amount of energy from each performance, and for fans who attended the concert it will most likely bring back many exciting memories as well since seeing pictures of each member doing their best during each song performance is a perfect way to enjoy the wait for the DVD release.

I haven’t seen any previews so far but from the cover itself we get a great sense about what to expect since we get a group picture of the members performing, as well as a slightly smaller but still equally cool looking photo of the group in black outfits, and while the style might have been a bit too similar to the original Momusu PB cover it’s still a great way to show off the content since fans will most likely see many similar pictures of the members as the perform during each song.

I encourage fans who plan on buying the DVD of the concert to get a copy of the PB as well since it will most likely be a great way to find out just how the DVD will look, and after watching the DVD performance in a few months it will still be a perfect way to relive this great concert tour featuring these ten talented members, and although I haven’t payed much attention to Dream Morning Musume this release still gets a 4 since the book will most likely contain an impressive amount of content showing off every detail of the concert.

Finally the Blu-ray release for C-ute and S/mileage’s first joint concert together that comes out today!

I recommend all of the fans of both groups to read carefully the review since it’s a release that everyone should have thanks to the awesome chemistry these groups have and to the amazing energy they all put to make this concert special and memorable.

For me, this release and concert was a little overshadowed, even though it’s turning out to be one of the best releases of the year. After seeing a few previews from the DVD, I’m really astonished by the member’s energy onstage, the amount of work and originality that was put in the MCs and the special additions, and overall, it seems like an amazing concert that everyone can enjoy in HQ!

Videos uploaded by: Mobekimasukidesu

I would like everyone to watch those 2 videos above which are the ones that convinced me into getting the Blu-ray, because in those 10 minutes combined, they got me going “WOW” over 10 times, and I’m really astonished by the originality of the concert and the amazing presence all of the girls had specially during the Dance Battle where each girl of C-ute dances to Ookina Ai de Motenashite versus S/mileage girls dancing to Koi ni Booing Buu! in a very original style for each girl (specially Airi…), and the rest of the video is just as amazing as the start of it.

I won’t say anything else since the videos just explain how amazed I am by this release, and I hope that everyone can buy a copy not only to support the groups, but mainly to have a memorable release full of laughs and originality to enjoy from time to time since you can never get bored by an amazing concert like this one!

I’m giving it a great 5 since in my opinion, it definitely deserves it, and hopefully everyone can consider buying a copy since it would be a waste not to have one, and I’m simply amazed by this concert.

Ado

We got a chance to check out the DVD version a few weeks ago and for the most part I loved it since it had a great combination of original songs performed by the groups as well as a combination of members performing songs from each others groups, and while the Blu-ray will contain the same basic tracklist I am happy to see that they decided to include three extra tracks for this release since it will most likely make the price worth it for fans.

Video uploaded by: hellomajisuka2

The other three extras are two extra performances as well as a chance to check out the behind the scenes footage, which is always fun to see since we can find out how the members act backstage as the concert is about to begin or when it ends as well as any other footage of them talking to the camera, and while it might not seem as big of a bonus for some it’s well worth it for those who have blu-ray players since the extra bump in quality as well as the three exclusive tracks are a must see for any fan.

I already talked about the tracklist and how much I loved the amount of interaction between the two groups, so for me this release gets another 5 since it’s a must have for fans with a blu-ray player.
