C-ute – “Momoiro Sparkling” PV Released

The PV for C-ute’s 16th single titled Momoiro Sparkling has been released.

The setting of the PV overall is very cute and colorful since it features 3 main shots which are the dance shot, close-up shot and a third misc section where the girls perfrom many cute and funny actions.

The PV starts off with the dance shot which consists of the girls dancing on a checkered blue and white floor with some white props in the background, and the start of the dance (that seems to be the same as in the end) is very cute and catchy since it fits the rythm of the song and goes along the differences that the music makes.

The dance shot takes a lot of importance in the PV but the interesting scene is where the girls perform many different actions successively, in order, at different times such as: coming out of  5 pink doors and doing a cute pose at 0:15, standing backwards on the dance shot floor with the lights off, splashing the camera with water from water guns and winking starting from 0:45, jumping several times in cute poses at 1:40 and playing with colored balls.

There also seems to be 2 close-up shots: one with a background of white clouds against a pink wall and another one more funky where they are standing on the dance-shot’s floor and the camera zooms in and out, which adds to the variety of the PV and makes it more interesting, and the overall camera work in this PV is very unique since it doesn’t settle down on a specific angle.

There are also many fun shots that only add to the cutesy of the video such as the girls waving cutely at 3:03 or moving around a surfboard and some chairs while smiling, or even playing with a big beach ball, and even though these accessories may seem cheap, they make the PV a lot cuter with their colors since there is no special theme to it.

Overall I have to say that I was impressed with how well they managed to do a cute PV with simple accessories, and I specially like the many effects added such as the pink bubbles that burst onto the screen, and everything combined really makes a nice video that raises the song’s quality (each girl seems to have an equal share of the screen time).

Hopefully everyone will watch it and reserve a copy to support C-ute for their future releases.

The release date is set for 5/25.
