Berryz Koubou’s 25th single titled Heroine ni Narou ka! (Eng: So should I become a heroine?) has been announced.
The single will be released in 4 versions: Regular, Limited A (CD+DVD), Limited B (CD+DVD), and Limited C (CD only). A Single V has also been announced for the single.
It has been a while since their last single Shining Power was released so it’s not surprising to see that their 25th single has been announced already, and while the release will be in about three months it does give Berryz Koubou a chance to promote the single well.
The title of the single sounds great since Heroine ni Narou ka! sounds like a perfect title for an upbeat song, so hopefully it is since their past few releases have had a somewhat more laid back ballad sound, but knowing Tsunku we don’t really have a clear idea of what sound the single will have until a preview is released.
Something interesting to note is that the description doesn’t mention anything about it being tied to Inazuma Eleven, which might mean that this single will be the first one since Dakishimete Dakishimete to not be related to the anime (not confirmed but it seems likely).
This might be something positive since it gives them a bit more freedom with their themes for the song (since the anime was aimed at boys their past releases had something to do with that for example Ryuusei Boy or Seishun Bus Guide where the members sang from the point of view of a boy, but this single has the word heroine in it which means that the focus seems to be on girls).
Despite that it could be somewhat interesting to see if UFA can promote this single without relying on any promotion from the anime, but we will have to wait and see since it has been a while since we have seen any good promotion for Berryz or C-ute.
The single will be released a day before their 7th anniversary as a group, so it should be a great way to celebrate Berryz Koubou and the 7 years they have been together, so hopefully fans reserve their copy of the single.
The release date for the single is set for 3/2 and the Single V release is set for 3/9.
