Shuukan Yoro! Vol 24

29 01 2010

Site Updates: Last week I mentioned I had started school but I forgot to mention my schedule: I have classes from Monday to Thursday from 7:00 am to 3 PM (PST). Why do I say (type) this? Well, during those times I can’t use a computer, which means that I can’t update the site if some news are released during that time period.

It won’t affect that much since I come directly home from school and update the site as soon as possible, but I wanted to say it so that at least you know why I haven’t updated about something like covers, tracklists, etc (basically the posts will be added a bit later).

PVs are released from Dohhh-UP about one hour before I have class so updates about them won’t be affected at all (until daylight savings time happens). In fact I will probably update about them faster since the school has really fast internet.

The only thing that changes, temporarily, is that the review will be missing since I can’t watch the PV at school, everything else will be the same as a normal post (you will probably see something along the lines of “I will update with a release when I get out of school”).

I just wanted to mention it to explain the gap of updates during the day, so hopefully that explains everything. This is only for the school year so in May everything will be back to normal.

Polls: The winner for this poll was Takahashi Ai with 206 votes (41%) so congratulations Ai-chan! Suzuki Airi came in second place with 202 votes (40%) and Tanaka Reina came in third place with 100 votes (20%). There was a total of 508 votes for this poll.

In light of the high turnout last week I decided to start making the voting procedure more fair for everyone by changing some settings on the polls. Basically you can only vote once, which means that erasing your history on your browser and voting again won’t work. And so far it seems to work since the poll turnout has been somewhat lower than usual, but gladly not by much.

I mainly did this to make it more fair for everyone since the poll is basically who is more popular according to all fans, not only one. The poll is just for fun and it is just used to help me figure out who is the member of the week, so I’m not upset at all, but I do want everyone to get a fair chance since some members have never had a chance to appear as member of the week.

Please vote once and if your favorite member doesn’t win then try again the next time they appear, it’s just a small contest and all contests are more fun when everyone follows the rules, so please do follow them. I vote only once when I add the poll (usually the first vote, so if you are the second to vote then you probably know who I voted for) and I hope that everyone votes only once as well.

The next poll will include Berryz Koubou members Shimizu Saki, Tokunaga Chinami and Kumai Yurina:

Please vote!

Reviews: I finally finished the H!SU review! I had a lot of school work during the week so I couldn’t work that much on the review, but I finally got a day off and I managed to finish it. Overall I like how it came out since all of the pictures are clearer and the text review was detailed and expressed my opinion clearly (when I checked the review had more than 4100 words).

If you can, please read and comment on it since suggestions and comments help me correct information I might have wrong or they could also help me improve my writing style a bit, so if you have time please do.

The next review I’m working on is the Kumai PB review and this time I worked hard to make sure I finished my homework before the weekend so I could finish it as fast as possible. It will be similar in style to the Chinami PB review with the PB pictures and the video of the Making Of.

I will update with more on the Review page.

Shuukan Yoro: It’s the 5th day in Niigaki’s week about “Coming of Age ceremonies”.

We continue with the letters to Momusu’s members in 10 years and this time it is the turn of the last 4 members. In short: the first member reads her letter, the second letter is as cute as the member who wrote it, and the third letter is basically questions and statements to her future self which actually come out more mature than Kamei’s.

The last letter basically summarizes my opinion of Morning Musume since it was written by the teacher, Niigaki Risa, who was, and still is, a big fan of Momusu. She is very optimistic about the group and how much it will last which is one of the best things to hear from a member since it means that she is in the group because she loves being part of such a great group and she wants to see them be succesfull.

I don’t want to ruin the episode for those who haven’t watched it so I won’t reveal the name’s of the members in this episode. If you want to find out whose letters were read please watch the episode to find out!

Hopefully you enjoyed Niigaki’s week since it was a great way to find out about the members personalities. Next week will be Maimi’s turn where we will get a chance to find out about side dishes of the world.

Berryz Koubou – “Otakebi Boy WAO!/Tomodachi wa Tomodachi Nanda!” Radio Previews Released

29 01 2010

Radio previews for both a-sides from Berryz Koubou’s 22nd single titled Otakebi Boy WAO!/Tomodachi wa Tomodachi Nanda! have been released.

Berryz Koubou – Otakebi Boy WAO! (Radio preview)

The primary a-side Otakebi Boy WAO! is even more impressing as a studio recording since you can really hear every detail of the girl’s voices. Risako, Miya and Momo sound like they will be the leads, and I have to admit that they do an incredibly good job.

The song has an easily noticeable power to it because of the way the girls change their voice to sound a bit more aggressive, which adds a lot of uniqueness to the song.

The PV for the single will most likely be the first to be released since it’s mentioned first and also because it will be used in the Inazuma Eleven anime, so hopefully the PV has the same power as the song.

As you can tell the song is incredibly happy and upbeat, and since it is a song about friends I’m glad to see that this is one of their most equal songs since they all get a chance to sing a few lines (from what I can tell the order is: Risako, Miyabi, Momo, Kumai, Maasa, Captain, Chii).

The song was will most likely be a great song to sing at concerts as a group since it is more calm and laidback when compared to Otakebi Boy WAO!. For the most part I like how they take turns since they get each a chance to shine, so hopefully the PV reflects the song well by giving everyone equal time onscreen.

I’m incredibly impressed with how well both of the songs came out since they both have their own unique and distinguishing sound. Hopefully we get a chance to see the covers soon since I will most likely be among the many to buy a copy of the single.

The release date is set for 3/3.

Morning Musume – “Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai” Single V Cover Released

29 01 2010

The Single V cover for Morning Musume’s 42nd single titled Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai has been released.

For the most part the cover is basically a grid of pictures from the girls, but the way the girls are positioned is slightly surprising since Lin Lin and Jun Jun are on the top (although they are still on the sides).

It’s great to see that most of the covers feature all of the girls equally, although it seems that the theme for the cover could have been done better (at least it didn’t come out like the Limited A version of the single where Ai-chan is missing an elbow).

The Single V includes the Stage Ver of the PV, so hopefully that turns out to be a great version.

The release date is set for 2/24.

Morning Musume Concert Tour 2009 Autumn ~Nine Smile~ DVD Cover Released

29 01 2010

The cover for Morning Musume’s Concert Tour 2009 Autumn ~Nine Smile~ DVD has been released on the official H!P site.

I’m impressed with how the cover came out, mostly because of how they added all of the current Momusu into small bubbles (in order of generation from left to right) while the rest of the cover is basically just a picture of Koha with some text over it.

It’s great to see that they are finally showing all of the members equally, and even though Koha takes up 1/3 of the cover it is great to see her clearly on the cover, since she is basically the main focus of the DVD. The text is somewhat simple since it is basically the “Nine Smile” coloring pattern mixed in with some gray letters, but at least the title is easy to see.

It’s great to see that they are focusing that much on Koha’s graduation since it most likely means that we will get a great DVD.

Hopefully we get a preview sometime soon with footage from the concert (possibly the ceremony as well).

The release date is set for 2/24.
