Shuukan Yoro! Vol 23

22 01 2010

Site Updates: I just started school this week and I have to get used to waking up early in the morning for school, so as a result I couldn’t work much on the site during the week (note: during vacations don’t change your sleeping schedules to Japan time).

During this weekend I hope to finish what I promised last week, which is to finish some reviews and to also work on updating the graphics and info for the profile section.

In other news, this week the site went over 250,000 views! Something which is impressing since the site is just over a year old, so thank you to the many H!P fans who visit the site regularly and let’s aim for 500,000 hits!

Also this is the second day that the site recieves over 2,000 visits in one day (the first being 12-28), and so far it looks like it is going to be the most visited day for the site, so again thank you to everyone who visits the site regularly for making this possible.

Polls: The winner for this poll was Fukuda Kanon with 781 votes (63%) so congratulations Kanon! Maeda Yuuka came in second place with 309 votes (25%) and Mano Erina came in third place with 149 votes (12%). There was a total of 1,239 votes for this poll.

I’m very impressed with the turnout for this week since it managed to go over 1000 total votes. I was also impressed since Kanon managed to get 781 votes, which is (so far) higher than most poll totals! Overall the results were higher than average, and even Yuuka got about 50~ votes higher than the usual winner of the polls.

It’s great to see that more people are voting since this means that we get a fairer and more realistic view of who is more popular from the opinion of the fans who visit this site, so thank you to everyone who participated this week!

The next poll will include Morning Musume members Takahashi Ai and Tanaka Reina with C-ute member Suzuki Airi:

Please vote!

Reviews: Since school started this week and I spent most of last weekend out with family and friends I couldn’t work much on reviews like I wanted, so I’m sorry for not being able to work on the reviews as promised.

This weekend I am free and I don’t have anything planned to do with family or friends so I will work as much as possible to complete those two reviews I promised.

Also I just ordered my next H!P goods, and this is the list:

  • Morning Musume – Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai (Regular & Limited C)
  • Morning Musume – 10 My Me (Limited)
  • Buono! – We Are Buono! (Limited)
  • Tsugunaga Momoko – momochiiii (PB)

What does this mean? Well apart from the fact that my wallet is now a bit less full it means that there are 4 more reviews in the near future. Unfortunately they will arrive when 10 My Me album is released, which is near the end of March, so there is still some time until it is released.

I will update with more on the Review page.

Shuukan Yoro: It’s the 4th day in Niigaki’s week about “Coming of Age ceremonies”.

We continue with the letters to Momusu’s members in 10 years and this time it is the turn of 3 members. In short: the first member cries a bit when her letter is read, the next member’s letter is short and the last members letter is read by herself.

A small note, the first member’s letter was really cute since she mentions all of the other members and how much she loves them. So even though that member isn’t that high up in my ranking this episode managed to make me somewhat more of a fan becuase of her love for the other members.

I don’t want to ruin the episode for those who haven’t watched it so I won’t reveal the name’s of the members in this episode. If you want to find out whose letters were read please watch the episode to find out!

Berryz Koubou Concert Tour 2009 Fall ~Medachitaii!!~ DVD Cover Released

22 01 2010

The cover for Berryz Koubou’s Concert Tour 2009 Fall ~Medachitaii!!~ DVD has been released.

For the most part the cover is great since it features everyone, but it seems that Maasa, Kumai, Chinami and Captain were squeezed in at the bottom while Miya, Momo and Risako are at the top (not surprising at all). I would have liked to see them more evenly spread out since, after all, the other members are just as important as the 3 lead singers.

The theme is somewhat simple since it only features the girls during the concert with the giant ~Medachitaii!!~ logo in between them, but I like how well it looks since it at least gives us a good idea of what type of costumes they used (also it is easy to see what concert the DVD is for).

Overall the cover could have been done a bit better (especially the spacing of the members), but despite that the cover looks great because of the concert pictures of the girls mixed in with the Medachitaii!! logo.

The release date is set for 2/10.

Morning Musume – “Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai” LQ PV Preview Released

22 01 2010

A preview of the PV for Morning Musume’s 42nd single titled Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai has been released.

A small warning, the quality is extremely low so if you want to wait for a higher quality I suggest only watching half of it or as less as possible (especially if you don’t like the song that much).

The preview is actually the full PV but it’s from a cellphone so the sound is not great at all (concert rip sounds like a CD preview when compared to the sound in the video).

I’m going to wait until I get a chance to see the Dohhh-UP PV until I review it fully, but so far I’m more than impressed. The make-up part of the PV is actually better than C-ute’s Lalala Shiawase no Uta since it features the girls getting prepared to model.

The stage ver also looks better than I thought since it features the girls walking one by one like models and posing (may be influenced by Kusumi’s “modeling”) while the close-up features the girls in front of a disco ball.

For those of you who think that UFA doesn’t spend enough money on PVs, well hopefully this PV will change your mind since it seems like it is one of their best PVs to date because of the amount of shots, angles, and lights (UFA really stepped it up when compared to other PVs).

The full Dohhh-UP PV will most likely be released tomorrow or this weekend since cellphone users have already had a chance to see the full PV.

The release date is set for 2/10.

Mano Erina – “Haru no Arashi” Covers Released

22 01 2010

From left to right: Normal, Limited A, Limited B

The covers for Mano Erina’s 6th single titled Haru no Arashi have been released on the Amazon Japan site.

Seeing close-ups as covers for most (if not all) of her singles is somewhat boring but I think this time they at least managed to make each of them a bit more different than the others.

The regular version looks more relaxed than the other covers (probably due to her pose), but despite that it looks impressing since we get to see Mano’s cute, but somewhat forced, smile.

The Limited A cover is similar to most of Mano’s covers but I like how it came out since Mano looks really cute against a pink background (for some reason it reminds me of the LOVE&PEACE=Paradise‘s covers).

The Limited B cover is the one that stood out the most since we get a chance to see a different costume and even though Mano isn’t doing any complicated poses I like how it came out since the simple but cute pink t-shirt plus the hairstyle make it look unique.

Overall I like how all of the covers look since they manage to make each of them a bit different to her other covers. One thing I would have liked to see is somewhat less pink since the covers and PV for LOVE&PEACE=Paradise gave us enough of it for a while, but despite that the pink makes the covers seem more cute.

The release date is set for 2/24.

Morning Musume – “Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai” PV Picture Preview

22 01 2010

Pictures of the PV for Morning Musume’s 42nd single titled Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai have been released.

The pictures give us a good idea of what to expect from the PV, and from the looks of it I think we might be looking at one impressing PV simply because of the overall feeling of those pictures.

The picture above seems to be of Momusu making their way over to the stage, and even though I would have liked to see Jun Jun, Mitsui and Lin Lin a bit more in the front I like how it looks.

The above picture has a picture of Ai-chan and Lin Lin together, which hopefully means that we we will get a chance to see the 8th generation girls a bit more than usual.

While we don’t get a chance to see a preview of the Make-up parts of the PV we do get a chance to see the stage version of the PV, and overall I am very impressed with what I’m seeing.

The pictures are a great sign that the PV will soon be released, so if I had to guess I would say that the release of the full PV will be sometime this weekend or early next week (my bet is on this weekend).

The release date for the single is set for 2/10.

EDIT: According to a post from the Official H!P site there is a clip of the PV which was released today, so this probably means that we will get to see a preview of the PV soon.

Buono! – “We Are Buono!” Covers Released

22 01 2010

Left – Normal Version, Right – Limited Version

The covers for Buono’s 3rd album titled We Are Buono! have been released on the official Pony Canyon site.

For the most part I like how they look since they are somewhat more casual because of the setting of the photo shoot. The normal version cover looks somewhat strange because of the black bars on the top and bottom but at least the poses of the girls look great.

The Limited version looks impressive since we get to see their costumes clearly and we also get a chance to see the location for the photo shoot a bit. The poses of the girls are somewhat more relaxed this time around, and you can tell (from the small previews) that Miya was the only one who smiled, and she only did it only one time in the normal cover.

Suzuki is always facing a side in the pictures and Momo looks incredibly cool in both pictures. The somewhat more calm poses might mean that they are trying to go back to their rock image they had when they started, so hopefully that reflects off of the album tracks.

Overall I like how they came out since we get a chance to see their great costumes and poses mixed in with a somewhat antique looking location, and while I would have liked to see the girls smile a bit more I think that the covers came out impressively well.

The release date is set for 2/10.
