Mano Erina Opens Up A Gree Blog

21 01 2010

Mano Erina has opened up a Gree blog.

I’m kind of surprised to see her open up another blog since it seems that her Oricon blog is pretty popular as it is, but most likely she (or UFA) just wanted to expand a bit to other users from other blog sites.

She has only recently opened the blog and she has already done 3 posts, each of them somewhat lengthy, which is great to see since it means that she is actually trying to post well in both of the blogs she has

When I started to write the post she had 2,234 fans and when I finished she had 2,305, so it is safe to say that she will probably put equal attention to both of the blogs.

Hopefully Mano keeps on updating the blog regularly so that fans get to see and read about her interesting life and the things that happen to her.

H!P Releases January 20

21 01 2010

4 releases today, Morning Musume’s Yomiuri LAND DVD, Mano Erina’s PB, and Guardians 4’s 4th single:

Morning Musume – YOMIURI LAND Live: The DVD for Morning Musume’s Live at Yomiuri LAND which features 9-nin Musume performing various b-sides along with some of their singles.

Setlist for event (some additions to DVD such as backstage scenes and opening talks):

1. Hand Made City
2. Love and Peace!
3. Kimagure Princess
4. Inspiration
5. Subete wa Ai no Chikara
7. Please! Jiyuu no Tobira
8. Sexy Boy ~Soyokaze ni Yorisotte~
9. Sono Bamen de Bibiccha Ikenai jan!
10. Happy Night
11. KoiING

I will review a few parts of the concert since it is somewhat long to review completely, to start off:

Subete wa Ai no Chikara

The b-side to Morning Musume’s 40th single which is slightly laid back but still upbeat. The performance was interesting to watch since everyone sang and danced great (especially Sayu, Koha and Lin Lin). Not much else to say since it was such a great performance with everyone giving their best.

Sono Bamen de Bibiccha de Ikenai Jan!

The song is the b-side to their Resonant Blue single which is one of the most upbeat songs and likewise the performance was one of the most happy I’ve seen from the members from the great singing and dancing (not counting Ai-chan’s cute mistake at 0:37 when she steps in the wrong direction and laughs with Reina) to the high energy from the crowd.

The backstage part of the DVD is an interesting section since it shows us Morning Musume when they arrive at the concert, take breaks, and have a handshake event with fans (first time it is shown on a DVD if I remember well).

This video also shows us a few parts of many songs (including a part at 0:54 which shows us what Eri does to Mitsui when she is following her) which aren’t that long but they do give us a general idea of what songs the girls had performed before taking a break.

Overall the DVD is one of the best I have seen from Momusu simply because it is one of the few real outdoor concerts they have done in daylight, which is a great thing because we get to see them better. This DVD is definitely recommended to fans of the not so commonly performed b-sides since it is one of the few events where they are actually the spotlight instead of an addition.

Mano Erina – Tengoku no Door: Mano Erina’s 2nd PB.

After Mano’s 1st PB it was somewhat expected that we would get a chance to see her again in a PB (mainly because she is one of the cutest members in H!P) and not surprisingly we got another chance to do so in Tengoku no Door (English: Heaven’s door).

For the most part the PB features the common Bikini-Casual theme with many pictures of Mano wearing casual clothes such as the white dress above or the outfit below on the left and also many pictures of her wearing bikini.

Not surprisingly we get a chance to see many pictures of a somewhat more matured and experience Mano which is easily noticeable even in the cover since she looks a bit more calm than usual.

The many pictures I have seen of the PB (UTB previews, LQ previews, scans, etc) do give a good idea of what to expect from the PB, and I can honestly say that I like what I have seen so far since there are a lot of great Mano pictures included.

Picture on right is a LQ preview not a scan

Overall I would definitely recommend this PB to anyone who can buy it simply because of the many perfect pictures of Mano we get to see in it, and while I would have liked to see somewhat of a more happier theme I am still happy to see that Mano is getting such great attention.

Guardians 4 – Going On!: Guardians 4’s 4th single which debuted at #7 on the Oricon chart. The single features an a-side sung by Guardians 4 and a b-side sung by Shugo Chara Egg.

The cover features Guardians 4 in their yellow costumes posing near some street signs, and while they didn’t appear in the PV (at all) they looked great on the cover since it makes it somewhat more colorful to see. The title art could have been a lot better since the letters look a bit too thin, but I like how colorful they look.

The PV features Guardians 4 in the process of filming the PV being directed by a giant lion, a small elephant and an enormous mouse and I have to admit that the theme was cute since it gives the PV a feeling that it was made with children in mind (actually everything by them is made with children in mind since they are the target audience).

The song Going On! has more references to Shugo Chara than their previous song which actually makes the song a bit more catchy for fans of the anime. The rhythm is catchy and the instrumental is one of their best, and despite the somewhat laid back feeling the song has it actually turned out to be one of their best songs.

The b-side is sung by Shugo Chara Egg and it features the new Egg Tanabe Nanami, and despite them not having separate releases (something which I would like to see them do) they manage to shine by themselves since we get a chance to hear them sing a song that is equally catchy and great as the a-side.

This is Tanabe’s first time singing so it is somewhat understandable that she hasn’t perfected her voice, but her unique voice actually made the song better since it was a nice change to hear her over the other members during some parts (similar to Koha’s high voice in ballads).

For the most part I really liked the single since it features a catchy a-side done by Guardians 4 with an equally catchy b-side sung by Shugo Chara Egg with their new member Tanabe Nanami, and while the PV wasn’t as great as it could have been it is still a well made PV and it deserves a watch as well as a listen.

Next release date is in one week with the DVD for C-ute’s last concert (Umeda Erika’s last concert) and Mano Erina’s 2nd solo DVD.

Buono! CLIPS Vol 1 Announced

21 01 2010

Buono’s first PV collection titled CLIPS Vol 1 has been announced.

It’s great to see that we are finally getting a PV compilation DVD since they have already released more than enough PVs to fill an entire DVD well (10 PVs + possible alternate versions).

The name is somewhat simple but at least it’s clear and to the point, and it somewhat hints at possible future releases because of the “Vol. 1” (it might be just a name but at least it gives us something to look forward to).

Hopefully we get a tracklist for the DVD soon since it would be interesting to see what alternate versions of the PVs are included along with the original.

The DVD hasn’t been officially confirmed so I will update when one is released, but so far it explains the lack of Single V for their 10th single Our Songs.

The release date is set for 3/10.
