Arihara Kanna Has Officially Left Hello! Project and ºC-ute

10 07 2009

We would like to announce that Arihara Kanna is leaving °C-ute and Hello!Project as of 09.07.2009. Arihara worked hard after she joined Hello!Project in the 2004 audition, joined °C-ute in 2006, and as their member, she had a major debut the year after.

As you know, she stopped appearing on the stage since February this year, due to the bunion, and now she has decided to leave °C-ute and Hello!Project and return back to the life of a normal girl.

We are very sorry to bring such unexpected news, but we hope you will keep supporting °C-ute in the future.

As of July 9th, Arihara Kanna has officially left C-ute and Hello! Project . When I read the news I was a little bit shocked but not suprised since her return has been put off so long.

The official statement mentions the hallux valgus treatment and how Kanna decided to return to a normal life because of it. So all the best wishes to Kanna to get better, and the best of wishes for her new life. She is the second C-ute member to leave H!P without a graduation (after Megumi Murakami).

Although she was never a member that stoodout much she was nevertheless a member of C-ute and will be missed from H!P and C-ute, goodbye Kanna!

It seems that Kanna is still in recovery, so she will miss C-ute’s summer concert tour. Hopefully she will get better and will be able to return soon. The link leads to the concerts webpage which has information about the dates and the times of the concerts, from what I can make out of it the tour will go on from 8/15 – 9/23 (not sure on that, correct me if I am wrong).

Hopefully she can make a surprise appearance near the end or even participate in some concerts if she can get better, but for now it’s a Kanna-less 6-nin concert. I’ll update with a track list when it is released.

EDIT

The title of the concert has changed to C-utie JUMP!

Arihara Kanna On Indefinite Hiatus

26 02 2009

“NEWS: The Hello!Project official site announced to fans, in a statement today, that C-ute’s Arihara Kanna is out indefinitely with hallax vulgis, or bunions. The common foot deformity has become too painful for Kanna, who now requires treatment over the coming months. Because of this, Kanna will be absent from C-ute for an indefinite amount of time, until she is ready to return.

The statement from H!P says that they expect her to be out of the upcoming C-ute concert tour and promotional activities for C-ute’s single Bye, Bye, Bye!” (Source: Musume-Central)

For those of us not that knowledgeable bunions are “a structural deformity of the bones and the joint between the foot and big toe”, and it is not something new, she has had this for some time, but they deteriorated and need treatment. So basically C-ute is down to 6 members for the next couple of months, hopefully not too many months.

I never put attention to her so I can’t say I will miss her, but I am sure that most of her fans will be dissapointed because of the Kanna-less concert tour, she may return toward the end of the concerts and surprise everyone, but it is highly unlikely. Hope you recover Kanna!
