Morning Musume – Nanchatte Renai PV Released

20 07 2009

The PV for Morning Musume’s 40th single Nanchatte Renai has been released. The PV doesn’t have a storyline but it compensates that with white costumes and many different close-up shots, they even included a group shot with them sitting down (which reminds me of the Limited A cover).

Everyone gets a chance to be in front of the camera either in close-up or in the white costume, but as expected there is a lot of Ai-chan. I really liked the variety of shots there were but it would have been nice if we could have seen another place of the abandoned warehouse other than the open area with pillars.

The white costumes are really impressing, and hopefully they continue to use them again once in a while, they look impressing, especially Ai-chan, Risa, and Kamei. Overall I would say the PV fits the mood of the song, and the girls do a great job of acting out the mood of the song, even though I couldn’t understand half of the song I could somehow feel it.

UFA you have done a great job, this is one of the best PVs I have seen from Morning Musume (even though it sounds a bit like Shouganai Yume Oibito and it looks like Roman ~MY DEAR BOY~ combined with Shouganai’s PV), but please try and add at least some other shots on some other future PVs when you can.

The single is set for release on 8/12.

S/mileage – aMa no Jaku PV Released

20 07 2009

The PV for S/mileage’s new indie debut single titled aMa no Jaku has been released. I am really impressed at the quality of the PV, and by comparing it to Morning Musume’s PV for Nanchatte Renai I have to admit the girls from S/mileage had a better PV (although I like the song Nanchatte Renai a bit more).

There are a lot of different shots, including the normal close-up and dance shots, but they also included shots of the girls doing stuff around school and of the various pictures on the blackboard. The best shot in my opinion would have to be the ones where the girls are doing stuff around school, since it fits the mood of the song.

If they keep the quality of PVs and they promote them right I think they can become one of the popular groups. Overall I am really impressed and I hope UFA has learned a bit from this PV to add some stuff for future PVs of the other artists.
